Sounds like some sour grapes from Anony? I like my Uly a lot, but will always keep an eye out to all brands. I am not going to be blinded by "brand loyalty". We all prioritize our wants and needs a little different, and that is what makes room for many different brands and bikes. Otherwise, we would all be on Honda's! I don't think a decision made after a 4K mile trip is a "whim". They sell a lot of GS's for some reason, and I share the earlier comment that the GS800 is one to watch over the next couple years. |

Wow...How's the trust fund working for you??? To buy a bike that expensive with all the bells and whistles on a whim? Hope your kids college tuition is paid for... What NUTS does is his business, for whatever reasons he may have. I have really enjoyed (most of) the past 2 years with my '07, but there are issues with the bike that some people may not be willing to endure. Reliability is now coming into play with mine, so I can understand Jason's feelings. Most Buell owners like having something different from the majority of people, so please don't be so critical when their choice is different from yours ! I really hope that comment is not reflective of the attitude most Bad Webbers have. |

I'm glad that BMW went with the Rotax for the 800. If they made an air cooled opposed twin 800 GS I might have had to get one. I do reserve the right to be a hypocrite and one day perhaps get an R1200GS though (or a Guzzi?). But for now I'm perfectly happy with my Uly! The R12GS just seems too huge. I demoed a R1200GSA at Daytona this spring during Bike Week. Other than the demo being at speeds too slow to really get a feel for the bike (they used to do the demos for a loop that included several miles of interstate), I liked it. But I couldn't say it was better than my Uly. |

It ain't better - just different. Like you Florida, I still prefer my Uly over any machine I've ever ridden. However I've had 2 aborted trips due to mechanical failures that couldn't be fixed along the roadside. So reliability on my 08 model is still a question in my mind. It's why I've kept the ST1300...it's my 'spare' for non dirt road adventures. I've done ALL the preventative maintenance (including replacing the red bearings with black ones) So me and the Uly are still working on a trust relationship - I'm willing to give it another go. She's sometimes like a beautiful Italian woman... (or Ducati) that will stab you for no reason. But ya still love her. j |

Very nice ride NUTS! I cannot remember what it was you were riding when we met at Ferris' place -- it was after your first Uly I believe. |

I posted as 'Anon' because I wanted to make an observation and not get personal (and get flamed)...I just wanted to make a point...I don't begrudge anyone from buying anything they want to I just MADE AN OBSERVATION... Arcticktm...All the planning that goes into a 4k ride and then to ditch your bike 500 miles from home (not waiting to visit your local dealer). If that's not a whim, what is? No offense intended Nuts have fun on your new bike. |
