Crappiest weather stretch yet
EDIT: Even crappier..i just drained 7 ounces of excess oil out of my X1 primary.
Whaddya think.As little as a crank seal? Or worse,not the seal,the CRANK pin.I'll monitor the oil level after the next significant ride on it.

Ok guys. I've been away. Here's why.
On 6/5 7 PM in Manchester, I was riding with one friend, when he waved me ahead and gave the wheelie sign on a nice level straight with no traffic. I down shifted to 2nd, 30 mph, gave it throttle and cycled the clutch, (same as a thousand times before.)
This time, however, my clutch acted a little differently. It happened so quickly, I can't remember anything from the clutch release to the point that I saw my bike 10 yards ahead doing a 12:00 slide, (all by itself,) sparks flying, while I realized that I was sliding on my ass. I had my foot on the rear brake, but didn't get a chance to use it. it happened so quickly. The bike went over on its right side about the time I tucked my left shoulder and rolled.
Here's the worst of the results.

So, about safety gear; the helmet was on but didn't touch. The ballistic jacket with armor and boots were all torn up, but not a scratch under them.
Denim pants, aka jeans............... not good for riding. I repeat not good for riding.
The good news is, I'm using the insurance funds to do an "S" to "R" tail swap. |

Ouch. Thanks for posting a pic of your ass- that'll get me through the day. Occurrences like this are why I don't do wheelies... Yeah, that's it. Not because I don't know how to wheelie.
In other news, Cycle Gear is doing Diablo Supersports on the cheap again. And with a little searching, I found a coupon code that may or may not work: FM10off50 for $10 off of a purchase of $50 or more. Yeah, I know you slobs swear by your $upercor$a Pros, but for us commuters it's a helluva deal. I picked up a spare set last time the deal came up so I wouldn't be scrambling to find some new shoes when I needed them.
Ride this weekend? Weather's iffy, obviously. We'll have to play it by ear. Y'know, wake up at 6 on Sunday, check the weather, check the board, and see what shakes loose.

And while we're sharing deals, I just ordered a pair of axo boots from motorcycle superstore for 143$. Much better than what I've been sporting, vented, and pretty cheap. Are they sidi vertigos, nope. Am I Valentino rossi, nope. Good enough for me.
