which banged up the muffler and knocked it off. think we can just reposition it and it will still work though. then it hit the ground on the right side while getting loaded on the wrecker. my cell phone pics suck but it took the blinker, got the fairing just a bit and really scraped up the paint on the saddle bag. plus he sat on the side of the interstate for 6 hours or so last night... i told him he should have printed off the bran and i would have picked him up. he said he had planned on it and when he was leaving went to print it and the printer was out of ink. not the best run of luck. offered him my 9 to ride for the day and even one of my cars but he said the way his days going he better not, lol. so i told him id take him out for supper tonight so he could get out of the hotel room. if i had a place for myself to live besides staying on friends couches currently, i wouldnt have let him have to pay for a room either. |

Can you get him a belt/blinker? Damn, I am stuck at work for 12 hours today and tomorrow. I can get a belt and turn signal out tomorrow Fed Ex if I can break away from this exercise or have Lynn do it. I just need an address. Ask him if his speedo cable is still working! |

I've got a spare belt as well. Let me know if you need it FedEx'd to you. When you or he get a chance (nothing that has to happen in the next day or two) post a photo of the condition of the saddlebag and any paint damage. |

belt should be here sometime before dinner tomorrow and i think we are just going to yank the dangling parts off of the blinker so he can get on his way. i over heard him mentioning somethin about his speedo cable, but didnt get the whole story, lol. i'll have to ask him later. he wandered down the street to a hotel to shower and get some decent sleep i would assume. |

Right you are Mr No_rice. I had a box of parts to take to the rally, in my rush to get out there I forgot a spare timing cup, turn signals (Smoke now has one on his bike) belt, tires etc. I did remember a speedo cable which is now on his bike. I took a look at his belt when everyone was talking about it and should have MADE HIM come by the house so we could put another one on. When you see him again smack him around a bit. Mike is a great guy and the second guy to show up after riding straight from NY to CO. He looked like he was on an all night bender with some crackheads. I got him some food and a couple of beers while he was standing up to stay awake. There was a time I thought he would fall over. The next day after camping in the cool Colorado Mountains he was ready to do it again. This guy has more will power and guts than I can ever hope to have. It was a real honor to have Mike here in Colorado as he is a true S2 enthusiast. Frank |

We had an AWESOME trip...but
The Buell Blues on I-70 outside of Russell Kansas
Well what do you do but start hitching.....right
She is way better at it than me!
Thank God for cell phones and "Little" brothers and their pickups.
Made it in around 2:00am this morning. The Buell Blues with a broken motor mount and sheared bolt. I guess I found the next weak link in the system.
Oh well....all part of riding. Now for the awesome parts. The very best scooter companion for this guy.
At the Royal Gorge bridge
A little Skyway road near Canon City.
Made it to the S2 Gathering hotel.
Betty Blue sure killed some bugs.
Sunset at the hotel. WOW!!!
Our Friday afternoon ride. We are headed up the mountain outside of Buena Vista.
At St Elmo as close to the top as the S3 could go.....left the knobbies at home.
Saturdays rides at the top of the Vail Pass. I think...you know how those guided tours, with being lost without the guide.
In great spirits after riding in cold rain for well over an hour.
Wet ole gray dog here! She asked do you always ride 80mph in the rain. I said "Only when I'm cold and wet" We did fair far better than some of the others who didn't have rain gear...etc. Oh and the super charging I did to the electrical system last winter paid off big this trip.
On Sunday we took off for Aspen and the Maroon Bells. Here we are headed up Independence Pass.
Here's my girl at the Maroon Bells. She could have spent days here.
Tim (Smoke) passed us on I-70 near the CO/KS border. He was east bound and down! Huge thanks to everyone that had a hand in planning the event. Thanks to everyone that made the journey to CO. It was great meeting everyone in person. Thanks to Kim and Cheryl for taking part in the activities and being our tour guides. See everyone next year! |

Loren: Spectacular photos! I thought I missed Douglas County, KS . . . now I realize I miss Kansas AND Colorado! By the way . . . if you guys were hitch hiking . . . I'd pick up either one of you, but she'd ride in the cab. Thanks for making me feel like crap about missing this.

I knew it was a done deal when he saw me eyeballing his tire and rim on his white 95. he had that sick to his stomach look! THANKS FRANK!!!! Loren, MaryBeth and Mike-sorry to hear of your troubles. the silver S2 developed an oil seep last night somwhere in Arkansas but made it home with a little oil added. it was too close to Dan's bike!!! see y'all next time! tim |

Hey guys.....I am in Colorado springs, getting a new front rotor. This one is getting worse every time I ride it. Hard to figure, as I never push the S2. My S1's with high HP motors, I would abuse the front brake and never warped a disk??? Clark_poos at the S2 gathering.......... Ride safe...Jack |
