MTB72- If you get in a pinch or want a belt I have a new spare. Not the "newest" type but you are more than welcome to stretch it out for me till yours comes in. I hear riding them helps make the road side replacement easier? |

Kristi- Chris said when you are ready for the street give her a call. She is getting back into riding her own this year. I'm on contract starting July 1st till 1 Sept so will be unable to ride with her. FYI don't let her pick the route!
She stayed up...I dropped mine trying to take a picture. |

Flyn - you are too funny! I'll keep you posted. It will be great to have other ladies to ride with. Maybe we're going to have to have a C3 Ladies Riding Group! |

Tim thanks for the offer as well as the use of your trailer and truck. The Uly belt is different than mine which should be here today. I am replacing the idler pulley also because it has some wear. |

The 1125R now has a stable mate. I've been amazed at how well this thing handles considering it weights 100 lbs more than the Buell. Less than 70 miles on it and the chicken strips are already gone.

Congrats! I've heard good things about the Sprint ST. The 1050 triple is supposed to be a gem. |

I watched it, the only thing I thought was real funny was at the end, "Jessie James has cheated death once again" yea but the TV crew and his buddy riding with him on the other GS didn't do a thing. |

Jim - Yes I decided I like touring from my recent trip and I'd like to do more of it. I have been looking at and researching the Triumphs for over 2 years. I really wanted a Sport Touring bike when I bought the 1125R, but after I rode one decided I had to have it, so I traded in the XB9S. The 1125R is such a fun bike, it will remain my primary ride. But now when I can get away for travel, I'll have a comfy bike to do it on that can also play on the twisties as well. |

Congrats Bryan. I test rode the 955i Sprint. Always liked the Triumph Triples and the Sprint would be on my short list if I was looking for a sport tourer. |

Sounds like a lot more fun than what I have to do on Saturday. Replacing a radiator and the oil pan gasket on the wife's Cherokee. The on Father's day I have to run out to Raleigh to pick up a power steering box for my Wrangler. Blew mine up on my first trip into Uwharrie. Have a blast. I do hope to get up to VIR so my son can see some real racing. |

It was a great day at VIR despite the heat. It was pretty impressive to see Jordan in the GTO class running the 1125R against 1000cc inline 4s and a few Ducati 1098s. He made short work of the amateur level racers and went on to pass quite a few of the expert level racers. By the end of the race he had worked his way into the top 10 overall. I *think* he was the fastest v-twin in the class. He performed a similar feat in Thunderbike, leaving the rest of the amateur class behind to go run up front with the expert level guys and finishing 4th overall.

Today and Friday, I've passed a firebolt on US-1 heading into Raleigh around 7:45. It looks to be black with a dark red windscreen. Anyone here? |

My ride to Raleigh was a waste of time. The dude sold the part to, get this, another guy from Greensboro. It seems maybe he thought he was me. Sold it on Saturday. At least it was a nice ride on the Buell. And my "boss" still let me out later for a fun ride. Did the 65/89/66 loop. Still getting used to the bike. No where near pegs on the tightest turns. Got stuck behind a crawling pickup truck. She eventually pulled over and let me pass. The pickup behind me kept up with me for a while. Looks like VIR was a lot of fun. Gotta get there some time. |

Hey 1313, I've got a question about my front brake not working smoothly. Also jim you might have seen this. When I pull on the front brake it doesn't pull smooth, it kind of crunches back. I can pull it back, and it stops, then pull it harder and it will break free and jerks the bike. Its got clean fluid and I removed the lever. Sanded the friction point and added grease, but I guess its not the lever causing the friction. any thoughts? Could it be the plunger in the master cylinder catching? |

Seeingstars - These bikes are subject to pulsing in the front brake. You feel it particularly when going slow and applying the brakes. It doesn't sound like you're talking about that. I have heard people talking about sticky cylinders in the caliper. Could that be it? You could check by doing a brake bleed and squeezing the lever with the bleeder open and see if it's still rough. |

Sportymark - You told me once about a trick to replacing the needle bearing, but I don't remember what it was. Do you? |

when I bleeded the brakes a while ago, I don't recall it being tough then, also it wouldn't have any force behind it, so that might not work. I can hear the noise around the lever/master cylinder though. I think the cylider is starting to go out. |

I swapped out my black levers for my spare silver levers, and it seams to have fixed the problem. I guess it was just too much friction at the lever for the front brake. (Message edited by seeinstars on June 23, 2009) |

Very odd indeed. Is there anything obviously different mechanically between the two sets? Are the black "powder coated" aluminum? maybe just a couple mils thicker? |

the black ones are for the city cross. not sure if painted or powdered. but i guess it is a tiny bit thicker. it looked to have some crud build up around where the bolt goes through. i must have missed this when i was sanding them. it was still smooth on my ride home. |
