Well I was a little premature last time I posted that it was running, well, kinda. Found out I had a bent intake valve on the rear cylinder and got a bad case of the creeps. After I found out I was going to miss my trip over a $20 part I was bummed. Last night I finally got her straightened out to idle properly. And again this morning, so I hustled around and renewed my insurance (dropped from $220 to $84, sweet!) and paid my registration. Put on some necessary plastic and put about 35 miles on tonight. Not getting over 3k rpm's is absolutely killing me. I stayed close to home just in case I would need to treat it like a farm dog and put her in the back of a truck but all turned out well. Here's a pic just before the impromptu ride. I'm going to bed, gotta hang drywall tomorrow and hopefully put on some more miles and smiles.

Looking good. And the 3k thing. I feel ya, I just did 370 miles on mine under 3200 rpm. It was not fun, I got passed buy a couple on there hogs (her's was bigger than his and had 2' ape hangars) on the super slab and could do nothing about it. I once broke in a kawasaki ninja 250 for it's 1000 mile break in. I want to ride mine to but it is being tuned now and is so close to being done, Dam nascar weekend in California is holding it up! |

Thanks, you can't tell from the picture but the timing cover is the CF job from Al. It's top notch just like their other stuff. I have the derby cover on the other side. The cut down was pretty easy if you've ever used a cutting wheel. The first cut was the hardest, once you start it just gets easier. It's webbed in the back and pretty easy to see what to cut. It was also an excuse to get a 90 degree angled grinder. |
