I would believe...that the BEST place to get the most accurate answer to your question....would be....the dealer where you bought the bike!!! Anyone else's guess is just that...a wild ass guess..! Mike |

My dealer sold me the extended warranty and the jardine exhuast at the same time last week. How many harleys come back to the dealer for work with stock exhaust? He didnt say it did anything to the warranty and I didn't ask either. |

All warranty claims are pre-approved by BMC, so BMC is actually has the final say. That's not to say thar your dealer doesn't have an influence on the situation by the way they present the issue to BMC or how hard they fight to get the issue covered under warranty.. |

Look up the Magnussen-Moss warranty act. It is a federal decision that prohibits any auto/car manufacturer from voiding the warranty for after market parts-Unless the after market parts caused the failure. I went round w/HD regarding a Power Commander. Once I brought up the Magnussen-Moss warranty act, my problems were fixed under warranty. |

I know a dealer with an brand new untitled white 09 1125R with a D&D on it. If you change your pipe and then the turn signals die, you shouldn't have an issue with getting that covered. You put a new pipe on, then your bike leans out and burns out the valves, well, you might not be so lucky then. |

The dealership I take my bike too did all my recalls and a handful of warranty items, all when I had my D&D installed. They never said a word about it. The dealership I go to has a lot of cool guys though, so it could depend on the staff. |

Exhaust modifications (like most) are a gray area as far as warranty is concerned. Replacing your exhaust does not automatically void your warranty. As mentioned above the Magnussen-Moss act prohibits this. However, if the after market part, be it exhaust or any other type of part, can be directly attributed to a failure on the bike, the factory warranty will be voided for this failure. Obviously any exhaust related warranty is voided immediately by replacing the exhaust. |

Did they invalidate OJ Simpson's warranty? |
