Got off the phone a few minutes ago, it looks like I will be adding another Buell to the stable, a 2003 Blast. I am going to check it out Saturday, and if all is good I will be taking it home. : )

It has only 1900 miles on it, and has been sitting for the last few years. Only downside is that its the slower red, not the faster blue one, but that can be fixed easily.

I can't wait, I just love how the Blast feels like it puts down more power than the XB9 : )

That is only true in dry conditions. RED has a more constant viscosity in wet weather which gives it a substantial top speed advantage in such conditions fyi.

Paintjob is probably cheap on Blasts, they're so tiny!

My gf recently bought an 01 Blast, Caution Yellow,
They are tiny, when I rode it my knees were almost on top of the tank.

However, though it was peppy and extremely light, it didn't feel like it had even half the power of my XB9S.

+!

I enjoy going fast on a slow bike more than I enjoy going fast on a faster bike.

I see people riding scooters that cost as much or more than a Blast.
All you have to do is ride it once and you know how it got it's name.
I don't get it.

I have a Vespa that costs ~1500 more than the Blast. The Vespa is ~6K new and is fun as hell to ride as well.

I love my Bolt and Blast, I just need to sell the Vespa.

Why would you buy a Blast when you already have a bike?

i must admit, the last 3 demo events i went to i only went to ride the blast. i've yet to get the chance, i think it would be a kick ass around-towner.

I forgot you had a Blast till I saw you a few weeks ago, I almost laughed my ass off when you pulled up. : )

My Ulything is literally falling apart, I broke the shifter AGAIN last night. Chin spoiler fell off yesterday, a different part of the shifter fell off on Sunday, clutch cable snapped, Garmin died, my race computer died, headlights decided to stop working, and the left side scoop fell off. All that in the last month. I should just stick some nails in my tires with the dented rims and get that out of the way. Oh wait, I got puncture proof tires : D

I already am mocking up plans on to make mine a 150mpg Blast : )

++! Barker..you understand....Git em Kristi!!!...red is fast, but black is the fastest color plus it has stealth..
+ Al...a Blast is a lot more bike than most people give it credit for...I seldom have trouble running at the front on group rides as long as there are curves.

A Blast is the fastest bike in it's class...it's the only bike in it's class. Unique carries some burden.

Froggy...I got your back!!

Hah! I laugh at your puny red things. Black is the ONLY color for a motorcycle and a Blast is a REAL motorcycle, like a BSA or AJS and not a poofter-bike that needs all of those extra cylinders to get around.....

Good luck Froggy.

Actually they are equally fast, just red when coming at you and blue when pulling away.

Now that I can ride a Blast more often I am getting use to it. The little bike is so light that if I throw my fat tail off one side the bike will burn a corner and still be standing straight up.

Blasts are just that-a blast. Before Shanda got her 9SL she had a Blast-I used to make up excuses to take her bike instead of the Harley.

I don't know if its good thing or not, I *might* not be getting the Blast for myself. One of my co-workers has been looking at getting something along the lines of a Blast, so we will be checking it out together. From talking on the phone with the seller it sounded like it needs a carb boot, so I will probably end up fixing that for him.

Frog, I had one of those gremlin bells hanging off my slider on the rear axle. It fell off and I lost the rear bearings. Get you a bell.

: )

This thing is awesome. I didn't touch the suspension or reinflate the tires or anything, yet I was taking turns on it in the rain faster than I do on my XB when dry. Lets see how long the footpegs last : )

My first bike was a Blast. Great bike with great MPG. Fun bike but I like my Firebolt more now.
I will say that if my first bike was my Firebolt I think I might of been dead in a few situations I was in on the road.

Talk about a bike you just don't worry about! Just thrash it around as many corners as you can find!!
I love mine... er, I mean, my wife's.

Not much to adjust on the Blast suspension. I keep grinding the sides off my boots when the pegs drag. They really are fun to smoke back roads on.

When my Uly was under warranty I rode the Blast many times with my riding buddies. They may have looked at me funny at the beginning of the ride, but things always seemed normal by the end of the ride. They never left me behind.

I am good when I sit on the back half of the seat.If they just had a little more room to carry stuff.....oh wait..... That's the ticket! In faster Barracade Orange!

Oh, and the rubber manifold thing.....$8.00, ten minutes, it is a normal thing. Make sure something holds the air cleaner up other than the carb.
