I saw a USO show in Iraq with the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. Do they really understand what that does to a guy thats been in the sand for 8 months. Probably not what you meant so:
I saw a UFO in Florida. Tallahassee back in 1995. At night during a major thunderstorm. Saw a streak of light and heard a roar thru the sky like a missle from the south-east. (I know what missles sound like) Don't know what it was but it was way too fast for a jet. Was pretty convinced it was a missle but never heard a thing about it the next few days.
Sounds like the UFO's my little brother used to make. Take a plastic bag that your drycleaning comes in, and make an X in the bottom with soda straws. Tape the hole in the top (where the coat hanger goes) shut. Put 4 or so birthday cake candles on the X. Light, and let it float away.
Presto! Light it, let the bag fill with heated air, and let 'er fly!! Watched one of these leave the riverside restaurant where I once worked and sail over the Henley street bridge (amazing to watch) to parts unknown.
Hooliganism at its best.
PS- aren't those lanterns pictured above the same ones that set the gigantic skyscraper in Taiwan or bangkok on fire last year?
Methinks they are. Crazy orientals, settin fire to shi+++...
Ya know somethin' I lived in one of the UFO hot spots for a couple years. Never saw one. Lots of others had/did. Just not me.
Could never put my finger on exactly why I was so unlucky.
Visitors to them parts would tell some tall tales o'er some beers. Like the disc of green light that seemed to hover in one spot. Would sometimes move left and right. Maybe even move vertically at times. Some even mentioned that disc dipping in one direction or the other and then suddenly move in that direction. Even just up and disappear at times.
Stories people tell when they come back from the beach. In the dark. Drunk as a skunk.
