I don't think the creators of the software want to make $. I have a feeling it is cutting into Buell and its dealership network as well as copyright issues. |

I'd be happy to send what I've got. I would like to hear back from Tsm81 and see if he was able to open it and download it but I didn't send it til late last night. I FINALLY got my valve in and am making compression on both cylinders so maybe tonight I can get it buttoned up completely. Hootowl, you have an address or you just going to fly by and pick it up? |

I don't understand the problem. I just went to http://www.xoptiinside.com/downloads and downloaded the 12.1.1 version again. just click on the yellow text "ecmspy2". Or is this version no good? |

" I don't think the creators of the software want to make $. I have a feeling it is cutting into Buell and its dealership network as well as copyright issues." What about Buell cutting into my life and wallet? I dont think a broken motormount bolt or replacing an oil gear that threatened my motor was something I wanted to do for NOTHING? Why wasnt the oil gear a recall? We all know why I think.... |

Kyrocket, yours came through, I havent downloaded it yet. Andy sent me one that I did download, but it wont let me open it. I got to figure out how to unzip it and change it from a pfd. to a exe. file. If I cant figure out how to do that, I will download yours, thanks alot everyone, Matt |

Matt- you should be able to just double click the file and it will unzip itself, placing the unziped file somewhere, probably on your desktop. once you have that file, simply right click the file and the name will be highlighted. delete the "pdf" and type in "exe". |

X1, yes I got what you sent, thanks alot, it should be quite helpful. Andy, and Kyrocket, are there fuel maps out there for my X1 that I can just kinda plug into ecmspy and not have to actually tune it myself. Say if Andy had a bike like mine, and already tuned his own bike to a good setup, could he send me that setup and me plug it into ecmspy and then apply it to my bike? Let me know about that please someone, thanks Matt |

Yes and no. It is theoretically possible, but most do not share them. Also, there is enough involved in doing it that it is really not "plug-and-play". If you want actual tuning help, I would suggest contact Al at American Sport Bike or Mike at http://xoptiinside.com/ |

Andy, the other day on the other thread I opened, you asked me about my O2 sensor, it is a 4 wire, not a 1 wire. Is that a good or bad thing? I have my ECMSPY up and I think I can use it know. It is version 1.12.1, the tuning guide is setup on 1.6, is that a problem. Thanks for all the help, Matt |

Bad news, especially for Hootowl and myself. Hoot, my wife left for a two day conference today and took her laptop (and my ECMSPY) with her. Can someone who has it in their mailbox forward it to him. Even worse than that I finally got my bike all buttoned up tonight and no ECMSPY to play with it. It bit the dust 9-5-08 so I'm looking at almost a year but it has been rebuilt from the crank up and I'm having withdrawls bad. The only good news is my Sony handycam 650 came in the mail today, gives me something to occupy my time. |

No sweat, I tried the link Buelleaver posted, and was able to download it. Not sure it's the current version, but something is better than nothing. |

Hey Kyrocket and Andy, I was looking on American Sport Bike at the spy cables and when I was reading about it, it refered to a driver?? It said that the cable would work with the ecmspy and of course I knew I needed that, then it says to use the cable with the drivers located...then there is a link to a website. My question is what in the world is a driver. Do I need that to use the ecmspy, looking at steves tuning guide I dont think I need it but I am not sure. Get back with me when you can on this, thanks alot for all you guys have helped me with. Matt Tully |

The driver lets ECMSpy communicate with the ECM through the USB port. The ECM is not a standard device that Windows already has a driver for. A driver is a piece of software that an OS uses to address hardware. |

re: driver, what he said ^^ re: O2 sensor- you need a 1 wire, stock style O2 sensor plugged into the 1 wire connector under your battery tray for the ECM to see it. The 4 wire is really only used for the PC. Go to the auto parts store and ask for Bosch 12014. It's like a 93 Chevy pick up O2 sensor, and same as our bikes came with. Read this page, lots of good info! http://www.saintjohn.nbcc.nb.ca/marriott/x1/ |
