I was riding along yesterday and I hear this clung and look back and see my right hard bag from my 99 S3(T) sitting in the street. Pulled over, praying that no one would hit it, and picked it out of the street. Turns out one of the little levers that rotates to hold the bag on the bracket must have broken, since the nut that holds it was still there. Anybody have one of these or at least a part number? |

>>>Anybody have one of these or at least a part number? I'll check when I get home. I may have some "flappers" or be able to find the part number. Let me know if you have any problem getting it. |

Court, I've called a couple of dealers and they're telling me it has to be ordered direct from vendor, weeks or months delivery. If you have the little flapper it would be great. |

>>>>they're telling me it has to be ordered direct from vendor I'm guessing that your dealer looked up the part and told you it was "VENDOR DIRECT". That's easy. It simply means that Buell does not physically maintain the inventory and that it ships directly from the vendor to your dealer. Generally the time frame is days. You might have your dealer go ahead and order it and see how long it takes. If they have any problem, I'll dig about and see what I can find. |

BUELLers: This is an example why you should buy the FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL and "PARTS BOOK" for your year and model ... If this is what you parts looking for; DRAW LATCH ASM.(3 per bag-kit) PN 81361-99Y If you have the HARLEY-DAVIDSON parts person look up the part number on the computer it will give back the NEW BUELL ("BUELLschitte") Part number and the answer maybe not available anymore, "BUT" if they are a BUELLPARTS PERSON they will know how to get parts from the original parts supplier ... Try GOOGLE the BUELL/Harley Davidson part number as you could be surprised what will turn up ... If "i" can be of further "HELP", Ljenne73c@verizon.net ... MAY THE LONG LASTING BUELL BE WITH YOU !!! |

>>>Court BTW, did you ever get those retain wires for the bags? I did. But the part number we discussed here on Badweb was bogus and I got (exactly what I ordered) the RETAINING CORDS that hold the luggage in the bag, not the small cords that hold the lid from falling down. I'm glad you reminded me, I want to reorder and see how long it takes. It only took a day or two to get the ones I ordered. |

Court - are you looking for the cords like I have on my S2 as safety straps? The 4"(ish) cables with an eye at each end, and a knurled nut, that keep the open lid from flopping into the tire? S2 lookup shows the same numbers as S3: Tether, 90951-94Y, qty 2 - vendor direct, 5 days, $8.35 list Knurled nut, 7498Y qty 4 - supersedes to DN1000.9CBKZ, obsolete, no dealers have. 4 dealers show the original number though - Dudley Perkins/SF, CA; HD of Edison NJ; Lancaster PA; Suburban Motors, WI. Screw 3660Y, qty 4. Supersedes to AN1004.3CBL, vendor direct/5 days. $.30 each. |
