I was hoping someone could help me out with a few measurements. I need the following taken pretty accurately: 1. Inner diameter of axle (both sides) 2. Total width of axle when installed I am working on adapting my Pit Bull trailer restraints for use with the Buell...but I won't have access to a bike until Tuesday at the earliest and I want to get the design to the lathe tomorrow. Got a PM from Blake and I just wanted to clear this up a little. I am not looking to make any money or any production of these. I just want to be able to use my Pit Bull trailer restraint I currently own for my SV650 to pick up my new to me 1125 on Thursday. Pit Bull doesn't have a setup designed just yet and I happen to have access to an older manual lathe so I figured I would just make it myself. Problem is I won't a bike until I go pick it up, hence needing someone else's help with the measurements. Hope that clears it up a bit. ac |

I'll try tomorrow. I have mics to 6" and an 8" caliper. Diameter will be spot on, length will be +/- .100" - yardstick. Zack |

EDIT: Never mind...You are talking about trailer restraints. Sorry, I don't read/complrehend well before my morning coffee. Avc8130, Pit Bull does make a set of stands for the 1125R. I have them, and they work great! Zack, The width is actually not that critical. The diameters are somewhat more critical. Pit Bull seems to use a large clearance so I will be copying that. I have about 2500 towing miles on the restraints with my SV so I am not too worried about it. I really appreciate the help! Anthony |

Ponti, The funny thing with that "rear" stand is that it is the same as their "front" stand for all other bikes from what I can see in the picture. Anthony |

Crap - forgot, sorry... BRB Got both ends while I was there. Front - Left side, flat-to-flat = .883" Right side = .688" Length = 9.3" Rear - Left side, flat-to-flat = .875" Right side = .745" Length = 14 + 3/16" (Message edited by zac4mac on June 16, 2009) |

Zac, When you say "flat to flat" is the axle inside round? Is that the ID? In other words, would a round pin of diameter .870 fit inside the rear left side? For the "length", is that the distance between the left and right faces of the axle? In other words, would a caliper measure 14.188 if the axle was measure? I REALLY appreciate this! Anthony |

For an inch or two into the left side it's the flats for the axle driver - hex shaped. A round pin will hit the flats. The other end is round. Yes on length, measured with a stick down the middle, outer edge-to-edge. Z |

I doubt I will be able to fab this up for Thursday. I will have to do some real design work once I have the bike on Thursday. The total inside width on the Pit Bull restraint is only 14.5". That doesn't leave a lot of wiggle room. I fear the swingarm may be too wide :-( ac |

It appears in the pic above that the axle is significantly narrower than the swingarm. Is this truly the case? If so, any idea how "deep" the axle faces are into the swingarm? ac |
