Author Message   Ferrisbuellr Posted on Monday, June 15, 2009 - 09:20 pm:        HEEEHAAWWW!!! I forgot to put a cotter pin back in one of the front caliper's brake pad support pins on my 96 S1. ( popped out on the highway... never to be seen again) Dealer says they don't even have a part # for it.... My S2 parts manual doesn't show the part number either. I may have gotten the part directly from PM, I don't remember for sure. I just remembered wher I ordered it, Appleton HD! Part number H0112.8, cost $1.35 list. I know I ruined one, but I might have a spare in my box of stuff. If you still need one, let me know and I'll do some digging.   Loki Posted on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 - 02:37 pm:        I think I went the simple way when mine were worn out. Replaced them with a couple stainless steel bolts/nuts. Add some safety wire and good to go. I only need to cut the wire on the bolts to pull the pads. Pull the bolts out, leaving the nuts tied together.   Ferrisbuellr Posted on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 - 06:55 pm:        thanks (all) for the info...(once again) you guys have been extremely helpful....I'll try the various channels you've mentioned...and if I strike out, I'll be back to pester you....   Phelan Posted on Thursday, June 18, 2009 - 12:04 am:        I took the remaining one with me to the hardware store, found a bolt with a smooth area the size of the pin before its threads, cut the threads off with a grinder and drilled a hole for the retaining pin.
