Are the Andrews N4 cams the same grind as the S1/X1? .497 lift I believe. If so, why would someone with an S1 replace his cams with N4's? |

Yes. Because his old ones are worn out? |

Aaron, Don't know that's what I'm trying to figure out. He started with a '97 S1 and built it up to a 89 inch with Patrick Racing cylinders, ported T-storm (BC Gerelogy) heads, Mikuni 42 and Andrews N4's. Just kinda curious as to why he go with N4's if he's already go the Lightning 497's. |

The Andrew's N4 cam is very close to the specs on the Screaming Eagle 497 [drop-in] cam. It puts out about 101 HP [at the crank] on the stock 01 Buell X1 Lightning. I just checked the specs from Andrew's on line catalog and the Nallin Racing websites. If you go with the Andrews make sure you get the right year cams. The 91-99 won't fit 00-09 bikes and vice versa. |
