Everyone that knows a Buell will know what it is.. It is the bike harley in this day and age should have built, Not the XR1200. I see alot of bikes but not one like this one. I can unbolt everything easily. I have not chopped the rear or done anything to harm the integrity of the bike. I see alot of Buells that ALL look the same. The SAME stock color, the SAME V&H, the SAME Forcewinder, etc, etc. All bike we ride are a statement or expression of ourselves true or what we want us to be known as. I am not a Jap bike rider, real bikes don't whine. I could not find a Harley that did not look like all the others no matter what you could bolt on. It still looks like the others. I can appreciate them but they are not me. I am somewhere in the middle. I wish Harley built a bike like this, they didnt so I made my own Hybrid. I was going to buy a Spondon frame, maybe in a few years. They are aluminum frames, tanks, etc. You supply the power supply and all the rest of the bike. I will go with a 1600+ cc motor. Like I said I want something different. I am just always on a budget and have done almost everything myself. P.S. Lovedabuller - The Calipers say "Buell"

No, Actually. I like having a small clue on the calipers for the Harley guys trying to figure out what it really is. I am going to Cherry Bomb XB or Black wheels, front end and brakes during the winter to come. I have it labeled like this 1 year before the XR1200 even came out. Harley people get really confused because the XR designation is correct for race types and it sound like a feasable label BUT they never saw one before.. Heh, heh.. I have a ball.
Even the Custom Billet dash confuses them. It must be real.. Right??? P.S. THE GAS CAP ALSO SAYS BUELL (For now) (Message edited by dreadnaught1 on June 15, 2009) |

Dreadnaught1: Now that "i" have seen more pictures, "JUST LOVE IT" the way your doing this ... Have a "BLAST" to do in a HARLEY-DAVIDSON way ... A "BLAST" really digs at the DRESSER mentality ... Really gets to them when they can not keep up ... In BUELLing LaFayette |

Clean work on the gauge!!. Noticed the S&S airbox and was wondering if you have an S&S carb to match or a CV? If a CV, how did you adapt the airbox to it? |

I tried to keep it stock or american in type.It is a CV, I had it blueprinted and jetted professionally. It runs great. If I do it again I will use S&S instead of Mikuni. The Desperado is made for only 1340cc motors. I used alot of JB weld and a dremel. I plugged all old holes. Drilled new ones and turned it so I have knee clearance. I have the clearance and a vented air filter. With the proper sportster back plate it will fit a CV but you have to get a Desperado cover.

Spondon FTW. I like the exhaust exit and the missle arming switches on the dash. Nice work. I bet it's fun with all the RUBs scratching their heads. |

The switches are going to be for small halogen 2" driving lights. The other will be for hidden strobes in the front headlight from harley and rear. I am LE and need them hidden. The warrants I hunt in the summer are alot if MC members. On runs I can keep tabs and pick them up when they seperate. |

harley might have built a bike like it but then the required lbs/cu inches would be factored in you and you would have a 580lbs bike with a 3.5 gal,TANK. Why care what the hd riders think, if they are mc riders it will not matter, the others donot know better. never was and never will be,hd. |

The windshield is a Givi A770... I don't care what anyone thinks or I would not have built the bike I wanted. I would have followed the cookie cutter mold everyone else does with thier Buells which are OK or destroy them making a chopper or cutting the M2 frames. |

Dreadnaught1, Can you post a side profile shot of your bike? I've considered locating an S3 fairing but they are hard to find. How do you find it for wind protection? Any buffeting? Who made the billet dash? Did you try the later M2 dash (with both speedo and tach) with that fairing? If so, how did it fit? Thanks. |

This is the best pic I have I will try to take a side photo. The wind protection is adequate, but I like a little wind. I don't tour on it. The sloped up windshield helps. I had the dash made custom in Florida from the template I made to the dash. I wanted something no-one else had.

It looks like something H-D should build. It's kinda sad that our 10 year old M2s are way better than any new Sportster. If H-D had any sense they would reintroduce the M2 as a new model and bring some sport back to the Sportster. I like the look of the fairing. |
