Well, been running a Drummer on my '06 Uly for about 3k miles now, with stock ECM and air filter (but opened inner airbox). It ran OK (91hp/79tq at the wheel, IIRC), but had some decel popping. When I found out the XB12 'race' ECM was obsoleted, I found one and installed it. Wow. Very nice addition. The decel pop is gone; off-idle response is 1,000 times better (it even SOUNDS better), and while the midrange feels just a hair softer..overall it's a much happier bike. I find myself looking down expecting one speed...and finding a significantly higher number showing. One odd note - my speedo seems more accurate now? I have a GPS on as well, and where I used to be about 3mph off at 80, now I'm within 1mph. Oddness. Just filled up for the first full tank on the new ECM - we shall see |

You mean it's not supposed to pop like 87 EVO Super Glide with straight pipes on decel?! I've already got the race ECM; guess it's time for a new map for my open airbox and race pipe as well... d (Message edited by methed on June 14, 2009) |

If you changed the pipe/airbox, try doing an AFV and TPS reset first. Doing a hard reset on the AFV will get it to start learning again, for the new flow characteristics. That should be all you need, unless you're running some radical open pipe or something... |
