I noticed that the upper part of my clutch cable bellows boot has a number of burnt through convolutions. It looks like it hit the exhaust header at some time. Can someone tell me what the part number is please so I can order one? Thanks |

I don't think it is sold without the cable but I could be wrong. Hopefully someone will chime in here with the full scoop |

Is your bike warrantied still? Is your upper clutch cable wire form still intact? If your bike is still under warranty and the wire form is broken or broken off then get your dealer to replace the cable and sub the new style clutch cable guide, on warranty. The boot I don't think is available separately, at least not in my parts guide. (Message edited by xbimmer on June 15, 2009) |

Xbimmer is right about warranty coverage. But if the bike is outside the warranty, use this: http://cableorganizer.com/adhesive-heat-shrink-tap e/ until a replacement cable is needed. |

Yes, it is out of warranty so its new cable time. I think I'm going to fill the boot with silicone grease and zip tie it at the bottom to keep out the water. The tape looks like a good option too. Thanks guys! |

I would not seal the bottom of the boot. Because if water does get in the cable it could end up in the transmission. The tape is the best solution, short of a new cable, if you ride in the rain. |

Yep, boot is only available as part of the cable itself, 38726-06. |

Hi Ratbuell, I ran the number through one of the web sites and got four versions of the "06". Any idea which is the correct and latest one for a 2007 Uly? 38726-06 CLUTCH CABLE 38726-06A CABLE, CLUTCH 38726-06B CABLE, CLUTCH 38726-06C CABLE, CLUTCH |

C would be the most current. If the number is unchanged (same part, just updated details), they put an Alpha at the end. New update, next alpha. A is first revision, B second, C latest in this case. |
