Although the only American motorcycles known in Brazil are Harley’s, I got in love with the look and power of the Buell 1125R and bought one, leaving behind my previous choose, which was a Suzuki. Even when the salesman told me, “there are only nine 1125R’s in Brazil” my interest didn’t decline. Well, I bought my bike in February, and it has spent already three weeks parked because it is not working properly. First when I received it, I could only take one ride. Afterwards I couldn’t start it up again. After a week with the dealer I was told that the battery was gone, perhaps because the bike was idle for a long period of time. Well, I supposed the bikes were verified prior shipping. Was not the case. Now I got the same problem again. After 750 kilometers, I couldn’t turn it up. First the dealer told me that it may be the battery, the charge regulator, etc. I started to get nervous when they couldn’t fix it after regular analysis, and now they told me that the bike is not charging properly because the software was not updated (?) but nevertheless, they cannot release my bike yet after two weeks, because there is an additional serious recall, that if not done may stop the bike while riding, locking the rear wheel at once. They are still waiting for the part needed to solve the recall issue, and I am not optimistic on having my bike back this week. What should turn into a nice riding experience is turning to be an endless nightmare. |

sorry to hear of your problems Armando. one of the 1st things to do when you get your bike back is to disconnect the cable from the idle solenoid to the throttle and then wire the throttle mechanism together so it can't separate. the 1125 can be an excellent motorcycle!! boa sorte, tim |

Is this a 2008 model or 2009 model? With the hot start and battery drain issues, it sounds like a 2008 model with a very old ECM flash (pre-03Z). |

What both answers don't fully say is - make sure your bike has ALL of the latest upgrades per Buells recommendations. This includes the latest ECM (computer) mapping (ends in, 05Z for the 1125R). Good luck. Mike |

Takes an hour or so to do this for a mechanic that's done them before. First time around, maybe a few more hours? There's nothing to it really, but sometimes they take a while. |

Believe it or not, I have not received my bike back yet. The recall problem is with the 5th gear indeed, but they told me they were not having a needed replacing part. They just got it and I will receive my Buell back starting next week. And yes, it is a 2008, built during the 1st quarter 2008. Thank you all for your comments. I will take them to my dealer. |
