For those interested in a cold, dispassionate analysis of the housing crises, The Housing Boom And Bust by Thomas Sowell. Timely and current to February of this year. Well worth one's time to read and understand how we got to this. As Court would add, "Keep your eye on Rahm." |

I think it was an NPR podcast I was listening to this past week, where they noted that there were twice as many foreclosures in process because banks are unwilling to re-negotiate loans because they'd have to take a loss on the 2nd mortgages in the re-assessments. It was pointed out that they'd come out ahead, by getting something rather than nothing (as opposed to customers walking away from the houses), but, short sighted no goes. |

Isn't Sowell that black dude who's syndicated to many newspapers? Naah, thanks but no thanks. Got better things to do and read. Right now I gotta finish steam cleaning the carpet and get the recycling outta here. Then I gotta kill an empress tree. Then the dishes, and several flies. Wow- I'd rather live a little than think/worry about what he sez. Listening to WDVX playing Willie Nelson and Wynton Marsalis now, and petting my Basenji. Doesn't get much better than this. |
