Handlebar,S1 PN 55925-96Y has arrived and I hope to be installing it this weekend. I have the factory manual for guidance. Are the FM directions good to follow? Any shortcuts or "whatever you do..." kind of comments??? Thanks all. |

Do you have new grips? I'm 0 fer 2 on saving the left one. Have you considered heaters while you're at it? It ups the complexity of the install, but "while you're at it...". If you do it later, you'll need new grips again. Oh yeah -- make that 0 for 3. |

Yes I have two (count 'em two!) new grips... wish I had thought of heated grips earlier though! just browsing through the manual now if you have comments to help a first timer! |

I got the Buell heated grips on my XB, they are nice! No clue if they would retrofit for a tuber. Installing grips is easy, if you got an air compressor you can use that to shoot the left grip off the bar. |

Froggy, Yea I have to agree with you now that I have done it - it is easy. As I leafed through the Factory Service Manual last night I was inundated by references to other sections where it explains in details how to take (for example) the switching assembly apart. Threw me off until I studied it all out before bed. First thing this morning I was in the garage before work and a few bolts and screws later, I was shocked by the progress I had made! Cheers... X |

The grip with the small hole goes on the left side. That's all I got. |
