Packing the Uly up for Homecoming, noticed the pump 'continuing to run' after pressurizing on startup. Figured it could wait until I got back since I've been planning to get to HC before I even had a bike picked out. So I dig in, do the soldering off and back on, adding the essential heat shrink tubing and a couple of zipties for good measure. After greasing the gaskets, I start to rock the housing back in. Everything's buttoned up when I start to refill the tank and sploosh! Gas begins pouring out the bottom, and I'm thinking it's just misaligned (okay, hoping more than anything) but alas, this day continues to suck ass. I ordered front and rear replacement wheel bearings two weeks ago from my local dealer, and still no word other than a 'maybe' and 'back-order', so I'm seriously doubting that they'll have the hookup for me on these parts. Froggy, you know it off the top of your head? What part number am I looking for when I order the o-ring gaskets on the pump, and what would be the quickest way to get 'em? Also, no one swing by and steal anything--the garage doors are staying open tonight to air out the Exxon Valdez that found its way to the shores of my shop. |

"Well, ain't this place a geographical oddity. Two weeks from everywhere!" And I quote, "It'll be another week at the soonest," just like my wheel bearings. Oh for teh profanity. Sorry, just venting. |

This part number is different than the one I used on my '06 fuel pump. It is P0121.02A8A at a cost of $6.15 each, 2 required. I also used P0198.02A8 Banjo stud o-ring kit at $2.85 each. |

Couldn't wait a week to ride, so i nabbed four o-rings nearly the same size from the hardware store. Worked fine, but still getting twelve bucks in gaskets from Harley... Just in case. |
