So far here is my pesonalized theme on my 08 1125R. It is getting close to what I envisioned, but I'll probably never have a finished canvas knowing me. Grey frame and swing arm - tried to get it close to engine color. Gold fork tubes and TH exhaust courtesy of Pete @ Grand Stand Designs. Exhaust pipes will probably get ceramic coated a titanium color, we'll see.

Yeah, that is a Torque Hammer exhaust. Wicked sound when you put some rpm's on it. It also has Traxxion Dynamics AK-20 cartridges in the forks, and I'm hoping to get the ecm remapped within the next couple weeks. It's getting there. |

Looks nice! My son says he likes your 1125R better than my '08 1125R (which looks stock except for tail tidy and some sliders)... he's only three, but he's got great taste. |

That looks really sharp Brett! Love the color combos. Are you bringing it to Willow in a couple of weeks? Asbjorn |

The fork tubes are just cosmetic, no? |

Ozzie - Yes, I will be at Willow Springs for the races. The gold outer fork tubes are just cosmetic, but I'm sure Spectrum meant the AK-20 cartridges that I put into them. I have not ridden it enough, nor got it fully set up yet to give a real review, but my initial reaction is that it is way more supple in the low speed bumps than before. Having the fork tube re-anodized was way more effort than it should have been. There is a upper/outer bushing that rides in a groove machined into the outer fork tube. This was removed (not an easy task) before anodizing and the bushing gets bent taking it out. This is a non-servicable bushing, it comes only with the outer fork tube. I had a machinist friend cut down some slightly larger bushings to fit. |

I too have been wondering about the ak-20 drop in cartridges. If they are a definite upgrade, it seems like its worth a grand. Any one have some solid ride time on them yet? Opinions? |

> I too have been wondering about the ak-20 drop in cartridges. If they are a definite upgrade, it seems like its worth a grand. Good suspension is one of those upgrades that really is worth it, in my opinion. I've ridden a CBR-600 with AK-20s in them and I was impressed. A lot of the local club racers swear by them. I had my forks rebuilt with Race Tech valves, springs and fluids. Ran about half the cost of what the AK-20s run, and I've been very, very pleased. Yea, I was really impressed with the AK-20s. Yea, I think they are probably better than what I did. That said, for what I paid, I'm really happy and have no itch to by AK-20s, even after having ridden on them. Take that advice for what it cost you. |

Good suspension is one of those upgrades that really is worth it, in my opinion. I agree with you completely. I would much rather spend $1k on new forks (or internals) than an exhaust that might give me 10 more HP. Yeah, the exhaust has the "look at me" factor, but the suspension will get you around the track or twisty bits faster. Anyway, I can buy one of those stick on mohawks if I want some attention. |

I have never had a moment with my 25r but I just don't feel as one with that bike as I do my 05 Firebolt. The suspension upgrade I expect to pay almost immediate dividends in confidence. |

Part of it is the engine. I have the same reaction to the 1125 platform. It's not that the engine isn't fantastic because it is. I just haven't connected with the bike. It's smooth in all the wrong places and vibey in all the wrong places. |
