Is the corbin seat worth the price difference between it and the buell firebolt select seat? Any input either way? Anyone own either seat and feel willing to give me the pros and cons of their purchase? |

I haven't sat on a Corbin yet, but the select seat felt really good at Homecoming on a 1125r. I rode the stocker 1600 miles and it was ok, but the select seat would have been much better I think. |

The Corbin seat is not good for hanging off the bike. I had one and sold it. I now use the Firebolt touring seat. The firebolt seat works well for both aggressive riding and touring. Also the Corbin seat does have some fit issues with the 1125R. Can but adapted to fit, but require some modification. Corbin will not even sell it to you unless you till them your buying for a Firebolt. Both seats will increase your reach to the ground by about 1/2 inch. So if your short, you may have to consider a custom seat. |

Corbin has set new records for poor customer service. They seem to enjoy pissing off their customers. I have the Buell Select Seat on my XB12SR, it is a very big improvement over the stock seat. (Message edited by Gentleman_jon on June 10, 2009) |

I have the Firebolt touring seat and like it a lot better than the stocker. I've been thinking about going up to Rick Mayer and having him customize my seat. Not sure how much better it would be than the touring seat though. |

Hmmm... any recommendations as to where to buy a Select seat, then? Thanks for the info, didn't realize Corbin had so many issues. |

I have a Corbin which I bought from the factory. It didn't fit, but thanks to Al Lighton, who read about my problem here, I now have it installed. I do find it more comfortable than the stocker, but I wouldn't wish what I had to go through on my worst enemy. It isn't worth it. Corbin was no help at all. Al said it best (and I'm quoting from memory): "Corbin's customer service would have to improve by an order of magnitude in order to merely SUCK." |
