2008 Buell Firebolt 2008 Tacoma I've had great experiences with Toyota, so I've never had a reason to look elsewhere. This is my second Tacoma. As for my Buell, I just had to have it. No other bike I looked at gave me the kind of impression that the Buell has. |

Jeep, Buell, Harley. Didn't buy them because there are American. Bought them because I like them. Don't forget, about half Buell sales are overseas. I guess they like to "buy foreign" more than I do.

08 CAD CTS 05 Ford Escape 96 HD Dyna 96 Buell S1 03 Buell XB9R 08 Buell 1125R I've owned German cars in the past. Owned US made cars in the 70-80. Went to German cars since the stuff back then was sub - par. Switched to US cars after after 2000, since quality is where it needs to be. Have owned Yam and BMW bikes back when. Hooked on Buell since '94. |

I'd prefer buying American, but simply do not like most American vehicles as well as foreign ones. Right now the only American vehicle I would consider purchasing would be an 80's or older El Camino or truck. |

4. Toyota (Tacoma) American made is great but I sure hate to see my money going to U.A.W. That's funny seeing as the Tacoma is UAW made http://www.uaw.org/uawmade/auto/2009/index.cfm |

I drive a 2002 Subaru WRX, and a 2005 Buell XB9SX. wife drives a 2006 Nissan Quest. I bought the Subaru, because it had what I wanted. Small, light, 230hp turbocharged motor, all wheel drive. An American company did not have a vehicle that fit those specs. We bought the Quest because it fit what we wanted, and was a great price. We bought it used. To the OP. I am not saying that American companies cannot and do not make better products than their Chinese counterparts here. However, you can't say that they do just because our military has superior vehicles/aircraft/etc. than other countries. Apples/Oranges. Military equipment is engineered/produced at a higher spec then your everyday grocery gitter. Who makes the best vehicles?? I don't know. My Dad bought a 1976 Datsun F-10 in 1976. He sold it in 1999 with about 300K miles on it. In those 300K miles, it was used as a tow truck, snow plow, battering ram, 4 wheeler (by me), and work bench. I was 6 when he bought it, and I learned how to drive a stick in it at 15. I had a 1994 Ford Explorer sport. I bought it used with 84K miles on it. It was in immaculate condition. I put another 70K on it, and it probably could take another 100K more. That motor took some abuse, and more, and ran like a champ the whole time. I had a 1989 Dodge daytona. Bought it brand new.. my first new car. That thing was the biggest hunk of crap that I have ever owned. The car was on its last leg when I sold it to Car Max for $500... and it only had about 65K miles on it. I also had a 1960's VW Beetle. I LOVED that car... it was my first car ever. But alas... it only lasted one summer. Warped head.. I didn't have the cash to keep it up. |
