Hey guys! I would like my next bike to be a Buell - as American as possible. Does anyone here know if there will be a redesigned model for 2010? I'm a motorcycle guy that generally likes bikes that are different and have always liked Buells, but was not crazy about the air-cooled engine. Now I like the new Rotax engine but I'm not feeling the love in the aesthetic department (sorry). Other background info about me. I have a friend that has an 07 Firebolt and I really like the handling of the bike. Please don't say get an 08 as they are a good deal, I'm really not interested in that model at any price. |

Well, as far as the rumor mill goes on another thread, all we can come up with for 2010 is "Bold New Graphics". In other words, Buell is doing a great job of keeping things secret until the dealer show. Stay tuned... |

The HD/Buell dealer show when the new models are debuted is next month, so you won't have to wait long to find out what 2010 is bringing. |

I heard that the 2010 model has the following features: 1. 235hp 1199cc Rotax built twin 2. All the aluminum has been replaced by the super-light alloy 'unobtanium' bringing the dry weight of the bike down to 200lbs 3. Built in adjustable steering damper 4. Heads up display with helmet interface 5. Traction control with 'launch' mode for 1/4 mile fun and 'Off' button for even more fun. 6. Color choices are: --Clear --Translucent orange --Brushed and annealed titanium --Glow in the dark black 7. Built in radar/laser detector/jammer 8. 20mm Phalanx CIWS that eliminates collisions by shooting a hole through anything/anyone that pulls out in front of you 9. GPS/Navigation with overhead satellite advanced warning of LEO's 10. Self-destruct capability with remote pendant (in case someone steals your bike) Ok, maybe I didn't hear those things, but I sure had fun day-dreaming them up!

I did hear that the new 2010s make coffee for you, and have heated foot pegs. Seriously, all I've seen that might be true is a new graphic, logo and MAYBE a new tail light. |

The biggest problem is mass producing the oscillation overthruster so that the price can be brought down to affordable levels. |

Serious question, have you seen one with a full fairing on it? Some folks who've HATED the look of the bike as it is have changed their minds when they see one w/ a fairing. If that's an option, get the '08 and put some fiberglass on it. |

On a serious note, I would have to guess that the '10 model year bikes will have the Showa big piston forks, no? The 1125R are running them in DMG if I recall as future production items. |

The Phalanx is soooo yesterday. I want the new Free Electron Laser thats coming out for the F22! That's in the A6E electronic countermeasures package. You also get the EMP generator specifically designed to target and shut down any Japanese ignition systems.} |

I got real close to 'em at RA and they are great looking machines! The fairing kit is awesome and seems to work well with the Buell Race exhaust. |

Thats freeking tight! Connecting the bobble head to the bike seems dead sexy. And the pods went from weakness to strength. Looks like airplane intake very smooth and integrated not bolted on. Looks real mean now and not just like its in a bad mood, lol. If thats 2010 count one sold already. |

HOw about that body in with 1199cc, tuned Helicon? Showa Big piston forks or those AK-20 drop ins. Penske shock. Optional gearing--CR or R depending on your taste and purpose. Oh yeah. |

I would be proud to own an 1125R like the one pictured above. It would be a shame if Buell did not have that bike in showrooms as a 2010 model. It looks awesome. |

maybe a really dumb question.....why are the rider pegs still on a race bike? |

Indeed it is a dumb question. The bike is part of the AMA pace and safety bike team, as written on the fairing. And on the truck in the background. Looks great! |

The truck is awesome . . . Gary and Lois spec'd it out and it's nothing but a "sit and relax" place for Buell folks at events. The side opens up and there are a series of couches and widescreen televisions that can show Buell videos or race action. There is an observation deck on top. I hope it gets more action at future events. . . it was largely deserted at Road America. It would be great as a sign up trailer at Inside Pass and Buell Owner Events. |

The only thing missing from that fairing in my eyes is a cutout for the sidestand. I'm guess if it is production-bound, we are seeing a prototype. You'll note the Uly belly pan DOES have a sidestand cutout. I don't care if they sell it WITH the 2010 models, as long as it's available as a bolt-on in the previously existing colors (so I don't have to get it painted). THAT would be SWEET! |

If thats 2010 count one sold already. I would be proud to own an 1125R like the one pictured above. If it's the Buell Racing fairing, I'm pretty sure you can buy it now from Buell Racing. Keep in mind it's Carbon Fiber, so it will be on the pricey side. You also have the option of doing a full fairing w/ FlexiGlas from GrandStand Designs or Catalyst Racing from other sponsors here who carry it. I'm pretty sure Glendale HD/Buell does. Or, you can wait until we find out what 2010 looks like, and if there's no fairing on it stock, you will still have the option of doing it yourself. Isn't life grand? |

I'm new to these offerings. Do any of those other fairings connect the top fairing with the bottom. I think that is why I was so struck by the photo above. |

Not sure about the others, I poked around the Buell Pace bikes for a good 20-30 minutes and even asked them to start it up, which they did happily and drew a large crowd at the sound of the 4-2-1 Buell Race Exhaust and lights. The fairing goes over the factory portions so you retain the factory plastics to include the radiator pods. They all snap together neatly and the belly pans holds fluids well. In fact, before they started the bike they had to dump the water from the belly pan as it had rained so I got to see how easy it was to unsnap and remove them. They seem very sturdy and well constructed. if I were to buy a set and I couldn't afford the Buell parts, I would go with Catalyst Racing for price. I have no info on the Grand Stand Designs set. |
