Any headers still available. I need one for my 02 X1. There are way too many cracks to even think about repairing. It would be shipped to 11795. Let me know how much you'd want for it. PM or emails work |

Same here...I've paid over $1700 in the last 3 months between tires, rebuilt shock, and engine repairs. Are you talking about the ceramic coated header on American Sport Bike? If so, that requires a core deposit of $240 if your header is bad. |

Ceramic = the shiznitt. I had mine wrapped before which looks better IMO, but the wrap deteriorates over time. Deteriorates faster if you ride in rain due to getting wet then evaporating cycles. The ceramic coating I have now keeps header temps MUCH lower than the wrap did. 3-4 minutes after I turn the bike off, the header is cool enough to grab. The only deterioration I see so far is that the first bend in the rear header gets hot enough that it turns a little milky colored compared to the rest of the coating. I'm told that the milky looking areas can be shined back to normal with some metal polish, but haven't tried it yet.

Tom_b - do you still have some stock mufflers for the x1? I picked up a 1999 X1 last year and now the power commander is giving me some issues and I'd like to pull it and go to a stock muffler. Well I don't want to, but using the ecmspy is just beyond my comfort level. |

Yes i still have the header and mufflers.. I haven't had the time to check on shipping and even though i'm giving them away for shipping and packing. everyone expects me to do the work. Tell you what shoot me a postal money order for $50.00.. If anything is left i'll put in an envelope with a muffler. The mufflers have no mounting stuff at all.. By the way the problem your having is the power commander, not muffler. A friend had one, once he got it set and adjusted and it would run great for a while. Then start acting up. After several rounds of this he ended up taking it off and setting his ecm up with ecm spy.. much happier. The problem is the power commander and ecm on are not very compatible and fight each other.. Firemanjim says he can get them to work and stay working PM him for advice. (Message edited by tom_b on June 03, 2009) |

Also about the above post on ceramic headers. Had on one my x-1 for 5 yrs and LOVE it.. Low maintenance, runs cooler. Wouldn't go back to stock finish unless my life depended on it |

No offers for shipping cost??? The header and nufflers are getting tossed saturday in a scrap metal haul.. Sucks when you can't even give something away. I'm not gonna box it up, weigh it and then give it away.. I'll give it away for shipping, but do some work on your end if you want it. My zip is 67213.,. (Message edited by tom_b on June 05, 2009) |

Bartimus - Any estimate to how many miles were on it? Does it have the O2 sensor? I can email a shipping label, I'll send the rest for the packing material by paypal. |

I've got a stock header from a '00 X1. Trying to find a header or force pipe designed to fit the pre- stepped frame bikes for my '97 S3. My X1 header will be available as soon as I find another exhaust for sure. Just emailed a BW member tonight about a force pipe. B&C - I'll try to remember and contact you as soon as I find out for sure about the force pipe. If you don't hear from me in a few days just shoot me a PM and I'll let you know. I just don't want to get rid of the header I have right now and be left with no options. |
