Yeah , the guy was acting like a Putz to Nori......Nori is usually a very nice person. This track has very few places to get close to it. The layout is great, have done one parade lap here, but it is not fan friendly. Plus they charge another 15 to 25 dollars just to sit in the stands , which is about the only shade. They don't open all the concessions and there are very few portapotties. The tram wont go onto the gravel areas and WSBK stuff sells out very quickly. We did get shirts and a hat this time and I got Ben to sign the hat! Other than that the racing was excellent , the exposure to the riders was good. We got to ride in the pits whenever we wanted to and the AF1 guys were there and they were pretty Cool! Tonight I will post some race pics...... |

Mr Spies....
An "Off roading Aprilia"
Track Nurses?
Jamie Hacking's front wheel weeds after he punted his own teamember off the track..????
Since there was no Buell presence we hung out here with some pretty cool factory people and awaited the unveiling of the V4 Aprilia..... Do we have Elves working on OUR V4..????? (we KNOW you are!!!)
This is called...Getting your HEAD into your work....
We stayed in the next valley over from the Miller track , so we got to ride this road daily to the track...incredible twisties to the top , then 1 mile of gravel (to keep the wimps away!)then a wonderful sweeper, twisty, parklike ride down to the track that you could glide all the way to.I did a video all the way one day.
Another bike showoff photo....(sorry)..The color on this bike is not in the Gamut of most monitors and all printers so it looks different every time I shoot ot.
Fabrizio
Yes , he found my hat AGAIN on the gravel section.... (Message edited by ebear on June 10, 2009) |

Nicky who? You can't mean Hayden, as he was in Mugello at the time. |

I think sparky is jokingly referring to the object of Nori's stinkeye as Nicky Hayden. |

Holy runoff Batman, that is no Laguna Seca. Seems like the spectators are way far away, at least at that section of the track. |

Morning Matt!! I use Canon 5D's and a 40D Lenses at the track are usually a 300 IS 2.8,100-400 IS sometimes with a 1.4 extender and a 600 IS on occasion if close to home. For pit work I use a 24-70 and my favorite wide is a 20-35.....all Canon stuff.I have an older 600 and 800 for static distant shots. I have come up with the idea of attaching my GoPro video to a hat to catch those up close crashes when your holding too much lens for the shot. How about you? |

Track nurses! I think I am in need of care! And Gee Whispers Eric, you have a dirt bike for the gravel duty. I know you do. |

Nowhere near your level of sophistication or equipment sadly I'm a relative newcomer to this photography lark, so at present I am using a Sony @350 with a Sony 75/300 for distance work and a Sony kit 18/70 for general stuff. I'm still trying to get the panning right on high speed stuff but don't get too much chance to practice as our local circuit only hosts 3-4 meetings a year now (the noise lobby took them to court and won). I have done a few motorsport shots here http://www.flickr.com/photos/purdy99/sets/72157616430740155/ and took a lot at the recent Thundersprint meeting http://www.flickr.com/photos/purdy99/sets/72157617956837394/ Luckily I was allowed entry to the infield at Thundersprint so was able to get some good closeups Here are a few of Phil Read (Jr) on the amazing Vyrus hub centre steered bike, and James Toseland just showing off

Very nice Matt.....I went on flicker for a few minutes(at work, cant look long) but I must say some of that vintage mcycle and the train shots a Fantastic!!! Are you doing alot of HDR stuff? I really want to get into that!! I would suggest any of you reading this should look at his links!! |

Thanks Ebear I use a lot of Photoshop and Dynamic Photo HDR software on a lot of shots, just to try and make them a bit different (trying to make up for poor technique more like). To be honest I originally tried the traditional HDR route of using three different shots at different exposures etc, but you can't do that with moving subjects, and I just got better results by using a single RAW or good jpeg image with the HDR software (easier too) The vintage motorcycle shots are definitely my favourites, although the trains were easy as they are just 200yards from my house (Message edited by trojan on June 11, 2009) |
