second try here I wanted to ask if there are more of us lady Buell riders on Bad-Web to ride out or meet at the 5th AMA Womens conference in August 19 to the 22, 2009. I went to the last 2 conferences in 2002 and in 2006 and totally had a blast attending. Please post if you are interested in meeting and riding west or planning on going to the conference in 2009. Julie, I think we're the only 2 ladies on Badweb right now! It would be neat to get a bunch of lady Buellers who will be attending to go for a ride out there during the conference. K |

If you come out would you be riding or trailering your bike? I know lots of great roads to ride in the hills and it is beautiful. It definitely would be nice to ride with some lady Buellers. |

Julie, I'm riding! and yes I would love to ride out there with you and hopefully other lady Buell riders. If this thread gets archived I'll wait until it gets closer to the date and re-post again. I did 2 threads tying to get on the top and Court is on the other telling me about a lady racer out there we have to look her up and check out her Buell. I ride a 2007 Ulysses used to have the city X. I'm traveling to Memphis, Tenn. this year in about 5 weeks from now K |

Just back on badweb after a haitus. We have many women buell riders here. Too many to count actually... in Wisconsin we have a handfull that race also... if you come out frm Maryland you are welcome to stay with me near Milwaukee... I can probably round up one or two of us that can make the trip also.... I will have to figure out finances in the spring as the M2 is in the shop. In 1996 I rode my 750 SECA from Sedona AZ to Wisconsin on my own and had trouble in Nebraska... Rode to Smokies and RDU in 2003 after 20th anniversary... Usually go up northern Wisco once or twice a year and camp. Used 1 week vacation for 25th and have 3 days this year to head north in Sept. Send me a PM. Click on my profile link at left, scroll down to bottom and click on send message. |

copied from Women Rider's Now 12/22/08 Update Harley-Davidson and Buell Sign On As Presenting Sponsors of 2009 Conference Harley-Davidson and Buell will be the Presenting Sponsors of the 2009 AMA International Women & Motorcycling Conference. This will be the second time the Motor Company has been the Presenting Sponsor of the conference, which will offer a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for thousands of women riders to come together and enjoy the camaraderie, scenic roads and informational seminars during the conference. According to the Motorcycle Industry Council, women now account for 12.6 percent of all motorcycle riders, a 29 percent increase since 2003. As a reflection of this trend, the AMA has seen an increase in conference attendance over the years and anticipates that it will double at the 2009 event with more than 2,200 participants. "Harley-Davidson and Buell are excited to be very involved with this incredibly important -- and fun -- event that will bring together thousands of women riders," said Leslie Prevish, Women's Outreach Manager, Harley-Davidson Motor Company. "The Motor Company has been committed to encouraging women to ride for decades -- even marketing the 1920 Sport model as 'The Woman's Outdoor Companion.' Being the main sponsor of the AMA conference is another example of how Harley-Davidson continues to promote and support women in the sport of motorcycling." "The AMA could not be more pleased to welcome Harley-Davidson and Buell as the presenting sponsors of the fifth AMA International Women & Motorcycling Conference," said AMA Marketing and Special Events Manager Tigra Tsujikawa. "This highly anticipated event brings the very best of the motorcycling world to women motorcyclists. It's going to be a first-class conference, and we are excited to align ourselves with the world-class products and people of Harley-Davidson and Buell." |

Babired, I just returned from Homecoming and am talking to Lynn about attending. The registration fee is a little steep for the two days she can attend. Too bad they do not pro rate it. It sounds like a lot of activities and I need to look at it closer. Do you know if I need to register in order to walk around and do a demo? Is the registration fee for the classes? Is anyone camping? Julie are you and Dan attending with the RV? Make sure you print a copy of the BRAN on this site in case you need any help and before you leave send me or Lynn an email so we can pass our phone numbers. Also if anyone needs a place to stay before or after the event also let us know. It looks like a well organized event with a lot of activities and information. I think we are going. |

Hi Frank This will be my third one I think you can ride the demos but I don't think it will be that many there, like the last 2 conferences all of the bikes were there from different manufactors. I know from the past you need to be registered to attend the seminars. I think Julie is taking off the day we ride our last leg of the trip and then she has to go back to work. As the date gets closer she will be able to see if she can take more time off. No camping! after riding roughly 1,800 miles I'm getting a massage and staying at the resort. I can tell you if the last 2 AMA women's conferernces weren't good I wouldn't bother riding out there. The AMA really does a good job putting this together I go to everything I possibly can. I will contact Kristi for the BRAN print out and carry it with me. I am riding with 5 other ladies we are all from the Mid to North east, NY, NH, Baltimore, Washington DC. Contact the AMA for questions if you are going to attend I do think Men are welcome to participate. We all have to meet when we get out there. I don't want to post dates and places on the board for more details even though my house will be protected back home and we are traveling with a Federal officer who likes to trade Challenge coins. Babired, thanks for the info. Lynn and I will discuss it tonight and check the web sites. I will have to look through my challenge coins. I am sure I can give up a few extras. Seems like I have some around here from US Northern Command and NORAD. Have a safe trip. We have a CBR member down in Canon City that can help with routes if you need, he is J2Blue and over in the CBR section. I will try to get him to attend as well. I do not blame you on the no camping. I just returned from Homecoming and camped while there which actually was nice but it could have been a lot worse with any weather changes. It helps that we had a Coffee delivery person in the morning. If you need anything while in or around Colorado give me a call. My number is in the BRAN and Lynn and I will help out however we can. Hi Frank, right now our plans are to meet the ladies, probably in Hartsell, to ride to Keystone. As we get closer to the date, and I see what my work schedule is, will depend on if I'll stay any longer. Being an On-Call I never know what my schedule is until the middle of the previous month. |
