I took off without clamping my top case down the other day. It had a fairly heavy electric drill inside. First curve and I see it tumbling down the road in my mirror. Other than being scraped up on top and the reflector partly broken, it's fine--nothing that Gorilla tape couldn't fix. Can the top half be replaced, and does anyone have a top half of one of these lying around that they would like to sell? It's purely a cosmetic matter, but I maybe won't feel so dumb if I make it look new again. Thanks. |

I did the same thing about a month ago. I have to take it off to turn the bike around in the trucks I move. I got interrupted as I was putting it back on and forgot to latch the bottom lock. I went down the truck ramp around my back field and noticed it was gone when I parked it near my office. Fortunately it landed in deep grass. It broke both screw pins of the lens, but did no other damage. I put highly reflective tape behind the lens and used the screws in the outside upper center corners to hold it back in place. It had about 10 pounds of crap in it when it came off. It is the dumb little things that are such a pisser some times! |

At least you didn't find out it wasn't latched and you were doing wheelies on the highway.... DAMHIK This PDF has part numbers from H&B for various parts of the case, I didn't look to see if the halves of the cases are listed: http://froggypwns.com/buellpdfs/E-Teile%20Journey- Koffer%2042_610.080.pdf |

Great help--thanks for the responses. Maybe this could become a "What's the Dumbest Thing You've Done On/To YOUR Uly" thread. |

Ha! I've got more arthritis and joint pain from all the stupid sh!tt I've done over the years. I'm finally starting to realize that crashing/falling/spraining/breaking things is hard on the body. Smile when you realize that you're just out a few bucks repairing a machine, and laugh when you tell the story years from now over a brew or two |
