Yay! Glad you were able to pull it all together despite the ickness. Of course I wish I could ride along, but I know you will take some good pics. Who is going to meet up with you along the way out there? I'm ready for the meetup tomorrow morning. The mirror was fixed with some epoxy and a 3.75 inch stick-on mirror from the auto parts store. Hopefully it will work for a few days. I have my rain gear packed and am ready to get up early and ride into the Springs. |

Have a great trip, Frank. I'm not going anywhere, time for my 18k service... fresh fork oil, oh boy. Picked up the engine oil and filter a couple of days ago. Drag Specialties has the number but no stock for the new K&N that was released last week. I need one and soon... Back to bed... Z |

Good morning. Dan's out working on our bikes. We had some problem riding home after the rain with shifting. Couldn't get the shift peddle into gear without some difficulty. After that's done we're heading out for a ride before the rain, again. Have fun Frank and stay healthy and DRY. Keep us posted. Hope your mirror works Jody. Have fun on your ride today |

Tell Dan to check your primary chain tension and detent plate, I am sure he already knows that. I met up with the Altitude Riders and got the S2T out for a spin. It was great to be back on a bike. It was actually pretty warm in the Springs at 0830. It was 49 in Fountain when I left. Jody has his mirror fixed in a TN redneck fashion. He said it works well. They rest of the group took off towards Deckers. We had two tubers and three XBs show up. A pretty good showing. Frank |

We just got back from our ride, yah hoo!!! It was fun. Just Dan and I, Skye had to work. Met two more Buellers. A guy named Clint from Englewood on his Firebolt and his friend Brian, and a guy named Doug from Golden on his Scg. We rode up Deer Creek to Pleasant Park into Conifer. Saw the clouds rolling in and headed to Turkey Creek and back to Deer Creek. We were going to then go down to Palmer Lake but those dark clouds were looming, so we went to Franktown, then headed south and home the back way. We did over 300 miles this weekend. Seems to be a lot more Buells out there. Way cool!! |

Wow, I've had an eventful riding weekend. Sure makes up for the wash-out that happened the previous weekend. Yep, I had a slow speed tip over on Friday evening. Fixed the mirror redneck style. Met up with several good folk at Perkins at 8 frickin O-Clock in the morning today, but it's cool. Scott's S1 looks even more impressive in person...and sounds impressive, too. I enjoyed the jaunt up to Deckers with him and Calloway. I parted company with the other two and headed west stopping to fuel in Divide. After some water and rest I came across another Bueller riding an '05 or '06 CityX and came over to him to introduce myself. Turns out he couldn't wake early enough to meet us for breakfast but had got the email. I conned/talked him into riding with me West on 24. I had hoped to go all the way to Buena Vista but a looming rain cloud made Hartsel a good stop to reconsider. John pointed to Hwy. 9 South and I followed and we had a good ride with much less traffic. After he left me behind to return to his home in the Springs I encountered mechanical problems. My shifter basically collapsed. Had to ride the bike in first gear back home sounding like a 50cc scooter straining to reach 40mph. No McGyver tricks up my sleeve for this one, parts will be ordered. Can you spot the redneck mirror fix?

Jody, both Dan and I had problems with our shifters also, after riding in the rain on Sat. Dan fixed them but on our ride yesterday, while excelerating onto 470 I got stuck in 2nd gear. Had to pull over, Dan did some adjusting and no problems after that. John,I was wondering if you were out there among the hundreds of bikers yesterday. I do have to ask, why do some of them insist in riding in the middle of the road? It didn't happen just once, it was multiple times. |

Julie, They are not allowed to ride in the middle of the road. It is legal to ride two abreast but when vehicles approach, you are supposed go to single file. I have been riding seriously since 1983 and try to be courteous. I think a lot of the riders out their are fairly new to the sport and do not know any better. But drivers need to be patient too. Yesterday coming down the lower part of the canyon from Evergreen, we were behind two cars and were staying with them, about three cars were behind us and when we got out of the canyon, a screwball started yelling at us to get the hell of the road. We where staying next too the white line and were doing about 30 mph and following behind two cars not holding anybody up. It goes both ways but I understand what you are describing too. WE ALL need to share the road. |

John, It was just weird yesterday. Usually the bikers and cars are fairly polite. It just seemed that it was unusually out of sorts yesterday. My worry is that someone could get hurt. You be safe out there. Hope to see you on Sunday. Are we all ENJOYING the rain????? Maybe the weather is getting to people. (Message edited by jumpinjewels on June 01, 2009) |

I like the rain for the moisture that we need but this is getting ridiculous. I have been living in Colorado 31 years, and I think this is the greenest I have ever seen the front range. I did a road trip two weeks ago from California to Colorado on I-80 and once you turned south on I25 from Wy. into our state, Oh my God the green. Nothing like this West of here and that includes Ca. |

Kim, either give me a call or pm me. If you need a place to stay you're welcome to stay at our home. We live in Castle Rock which is still a ways from the track. Let me know. My cell is 303-589-8150 |

Just went out and checked the rain gauge I made a few weeks ago... 3/4 of an inch... in one day. Changed the fork oil for my 18k service, lots easier than I expected. Gotta put Loretta's mirrors back on. Seems I broke a wire in the key-switch harness, while checking side-to-side movement, and had to tear into the front-end wiring to fix it. Forecast is calling for rain again today, maybe this afternoon. I'll take my chances, it looks gorgeous this morning. Z |

Thanks for the offer, Julie. I've got a place to crash and shower while at the track this weekend. I'll be heading through Castle Rock about 4pm or so... I may just stop and check out the Frank Town feed while I'm there so I can miss all the rush hour traffic around Denver. I'll give you a call. Kim |

Here are some of the pics. Posting pics to this site is becoming a real pain. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/37/ 439445.html?1244423239 Hopefully some more of us will be able to make it next year. It was a good trip even with the rain. I got rain all day today and most of the way out of Colorado on the way there, I had one rain free ride from NE to WI. Good time. |
