Had a drummer on my XB. Kevin's shop is in Hickory. I don't think he is active in C3. I've dropped in on him a couple of times, he always was welcoming. Even though he is very busy, he has taken time to chat and answer questions. Out of respect for his time I didn't stay long, but enjoyed visiting with him.
I sent the Drummer link to my "boss" just in case she ever gets stuck for a gift idea. Haven't decided if I would get the chin brackets too. One less thing to take off for maintenance work.
A recent Last Comic Standing winner is from Hickory. JR something. Does the "you got a HEMI in that?" commercials.
How many Buellers here have Drummers? Did I read here that the designer/owner of Drummer is a C3?
I'm on my 2nd Drummer. I don't think I've seen any of Kevin's posts here in the C3 section, but I've talked to him over the phone and exchanged emails with him a few times. He's always been very helpful and informative.
Kevin is way too busy to post. Met him a couple of years ago when Twig was waiting his turn in line . Asked him if he'd thought of patenting it and selling rights . He said "no", that would make it too expensive for your ordinary guy.
Patents can get expensive when lawyers are required. Plus the fees are higher when filing as a business vs. individual. The protection is worth it in the long run. As it stands now, someone could reverse engineering the exhaust and sell cheap knock offs.
Hopefully the boss doesn't make me wait too long to add a thumper.
Tour of Erik Buell's "barn" featuring ~30 minutes of video of Erik talking about the history of the bikes including history of the VR1000 engine. Also features pictures of a VR1000 Prototype with split radiators and fuel in the frame . . . from 1989. Buell really is ahead of his time.
Tiffany and me a great ride today about 120 miles.Saw 2 more buells a blast and a firebolt. My buell mesh jacket came in today, went by and got it looks good and feels good.Have a great week Glenn
All in all she is doing quite well. She actually maneuvers the bike very well for the few hours she has been riding. She is not afraid to lean it out but we need a little more time in the lot to get use to controls before taking it to the street.
So, yeah, I'm home. I didn't check the mileage when I pulled in, but it's got to be around 2,500. Shoulda been more, but I decided to ride up to the track and back both days with Frank in his rental car - or escape the rain - depending on your point of view...
Fun was had by all, even Pegasus the Bearded Dragon:
Why does the Geico Gecko mascot make me laugh in the last pic? 1313
I am not going up this weekend as planned. Carlee's Youth Group leaders asked me to come along as a chaperon for their Beach camping trip. I couldn't say no. So I'm off to the beach this weekend with a dozen teen / pre-teens. I may still go up during the fourth and then again the weekend of July 18-19. Maybe by then Kristi will be ready for the parkway.
Many thanks to Chris (Flynuly's wife) for helping me when my bike broke it's belt last night. You were a life saver. Thank you Jim for getting in touch with her for me.
Replacing a radiator in my wife's Jeep and helping install a lift kit on another Jeep on the 20th. Have a blast. I've never been to VIR. Maybe for the Buell day.
