"Easily visible from at least about half way down the front straight at Road America on a sunny day. " How about on a blind corner? The back of a car is easier to recognize as a pace car when you roll up on it dragging a knee hard on the gas coming out of a corner than the back of a motorcycle, when you're racing other motorcycles. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled Buell was selected. I question the intelligence of the decision to use a motorcycle for this, that's all. |

Yep, you can easily recognize it... just before you pile into it, 'cause it takes up four or five times more track space than a bike!!! Race bikes belong on racetracks with bikes not cars. G |

I hope you guys are right, but I can already hear the whining from the first guy that blows by it, gets penalized, and then says he didn't see it because there was 2 or 3 other motorcycles in between him and the pace bike. |

Oh, and yeah, I'm not really an advocate of the pace car either, not in motorcycle racing. Flags have worked pretty well so far. |

"Flags have worked pretty well so far." They still use flags. They're using the bikes to help get things sorted and to reduce down time during the race. Maybe they'll work maybe they won't but it's worth a try. G |
