15. 'I stand by all the misstatements that I've made Hate to say it but I have often had more meaning behind what I have said then what was conveyed by my words. (Not defending Pres. Bush.) |

Old Man, I'm kinda new here, and slower than the average bear, but I get the impression you're a man of strong political convictions. If you can't laugh at a President, and I mean ANY President, not just ones you may disagree with, you're missing the point of Free Speech. As Larry the Cable Guy says, "That's just funny; I don't care who you are." We haven't had a perfect President yet, and I don't expect to live to see one. We do live in the greatest country on Earth, though. |

I don't think Old_Man was getting too serious, but may have been agreeing with me. Could be wrong, but I like The Old_Man. As I will say at times. . . It is all fun and games until someone losses an eye, and so long as it isn't me, then it is just fun! People in power are often "killed" on there words rather then there message. Am I making sense or just babaling? |

Don't "Misunderestimate" me on this (a W-ism). I'm not getting serious, and have no problems w/the W-isms. In the past some folks around here have gotten a bit 'wrapped around the axle' (Not a W-ism, BTW) about politics. The point (one point, at least)of humor is simple: to laugh. Laughter is freedom. |

Yes, many "politically motivated" here. Some here say those "politically motivated" have no validity. I say take it all with a grain of salt. |

Trust me, I make an ass of myself in my uni. just about every day. I really am fine with the humor thing. If you can't laugh at yourself, you have no right laughing at others. Think that Old_man was just pointing out some fun with the Pres. |

There is no leader that is so great that they should take themselves so serious that they cannot enjoy the stupid moments. |

I just fear a day when we can't laugh at our leaders. Or ride motorcycles, or light farts in public... |

The WMD room is in Syria. The Russians moved it, and didn't tell George. I've often said I would love to hunting with Dick Cheney. I'd be behind him 100%. In armor & a helmet. re: room #14 I also occasionally loudly announce in bathroom stalls, "My wide stance has nothing to do with my sexuality or political position. I'm just trying to keep my pants off the floor"..... freaks people out. That list is funny. George the younger still isn't as prolific with the gaffes as Danforth Quail. Spider Robinson once wrote a book that used Dan Quail quotes as chapter headers.... Priceless! ( as is almost all Spider's work, I commend it to you ) |

Cowboy shows great intelligence. Although he has never met me and doesn't know me, He knows that because I was a policeman for 38 years, I am a bully. Ask Cowboy about his feelings for the KKK (Message edited by old_man on June 03, 2009) |

>>>>As Larry the Cable Guy says, "That's just funny; I don't care who you are." I absolutely agree and the list being built now is going to make that look like an M.I.T. Doctoral Thesis! Funny stuff. The media today is trying to figure out how Obama shrunk or the King grew in the last month . . . . remember a month ago Robert Gibbs, White House Clown, explained to us that Obama had to "bend" to greet the King due to the fact that Obama was "so much taller". Somehow today he managed to be staring his Highness right in the eye . . . . steroids? . . performance enhancing drugs? . . . hmmmmm |

"The National Debt Room, which is huge and has no ceiling." Seriously? How long is it going to take our children to pay for the current administration's spending? I know that list has some funny stuff in there but that line just went right up my nose. |

On the subject of great humor, I'm digging Conan with the Tonite Show, followed by Jimmy Fallon and the Roots. This thread reminds me why The Daily Show is the best and most important comedy show out there, properly followed by Steve Colbert. Makes me want to get cable again. Dems vs the GOP? Bodysurfing vs douche canoeing ALL IN GOOD FUN YOU UPTITE BEATTCHES |
