Kristi, cool deal. I had a Blast in 2000, but traded it in for the Mighty 2001 Cyclone! I still wish I had that little bike, never had a problem with it, put a good 7,500 happy miles on it in a year. (Ask Prior about when we took it dirt tracking through a cut soybean field...) My slightly vertically challenged wife (4'9") may get into riding on her own once we get settled down and can find a bike to lower for her extremely short inseam. Keep the dirty side down, safe travels always! |

There are few things in life more fun than a motorcycle... even fewer that you can do with your clothes on. |

If you can't get a class near you, come up to Charlottesville and we'll get in you to a course up here. Then hit the parkway back home! |

Thanks everyone! Back when we lived in Cincinnati my dad was teaching me to fly a hot air balloon. When we moved to NC, needless to say, that came to a halt. One thing he did teach me was to fly with several different pilots, as they all had something different to bring to the table. I'm going to take the same approach with learning to ride. M2nc and Webe are local and have time and mileage under their belts and both will have the patience to teach me, the impatient one. We're also very fortunate to have Mikethebike72 pretty close to us and he teaches the Rider's Edge course at Ray Price. He will also be a great resource. I'll probably drive them all crazy before its over with, but I think I can win them back with drinks and dinner! Webe is planning to bring the Blast over tomorrow and then we'll head to Shelton's to pick his M2 up. Will keep you posted and maybe if we have success Saturday with some stop and go practice we'll post up a picture or two! |

BuellToberFest is gonna be fun! I hope we will have a couple of rides around Fancy Gap before then. Of course I had a blast (pun intended) riding the Blast up the Snake a couple of years ago. I did discover that the Blast's pegs are much lower than the Uly. I really thought I ripped the left foot peg in the first hard left. I quickly learned to lean off the bike to get it through the corners fast. It was funny. I was in the back of the group when we started, but it took no time to get to the front. |

I was in the back of the group when we started, but it took no time to get to the front. It was great fun watching Charlie blow by people on his Blast one day on HWY60! |

Lynn - Not sure when we'll be able to do Homecoming. Between the distance and children in school, it's just out of reach. Maybe you and Frank will make it to Suches or eastern NC once you're done with school! BuellToberFest is gonna be fun! Yes it is!!! I'm going to the the loop this year! October 14th will be mine and Carlos' 20th anniversary...partytime in Suches!! |

There's enough MSF/RE instructors on this site, we should have a big teach-em party at the Va-NC line! |

When will the party be ? Lynn you doing the AMA women's conference this August, I'll be there and another lady Buell rider will join me the very last part of the trip. I know I will be visiting Milwaukee sometime next year for the RE CIW hopefully the Homecoming will be in the same time frame and I'm there for that too. K |

Julie and Kathleen, I think I will be able to do at least the 3 day weekend. It is Aug 19th through 22nd,right? That is just a week before the end of my summer session at school, but if I plan it out now...I will be fine.....It would be great fun!! Frank left for Homecoming this morning so it is just me and the cat(mayv). So she is helping me do my homework today,...I just tried to attach a picture, but it was too big...... So anyway sounds great, look forward to seeing everyone!!.......I will check with Frank and see If he wants to camp for a night or 2, I like to be able to do some camping at least once a year. Thanks for your posts, take care Lynn |

One head had to go back to Pammy, I had a nut wander into the rear cylinder and some serious damage came of it, fortunalely I was rolling the motor over to oil it, sadly I used the starter motor more rings, gaskets, and small bits I do not know the eta of the rear head back to me, sooo close yet sooooo far I have rebuilt the rear shock( yeah the showa! ) and have to weld up a hole in the frame and then ride till next winter I am delighted that see that you have decided to ride I was kinda supprised that you did not opt to do it sooner, in some ways after reading about you riding the fiddy in the yard its not a big step =) I look forward to a group meet at the fish camp or Bueltoberfest, I have been missing the cabin... and the comradery Perhaps with less drama this year though ( getting lost and circling cleveland ga with Danny, Matt, You and I after getting Danny out of the hospital was a novel experience ) I'm not sure Matt will recover I hope that Danny did especialy after helping change the dirt lubed trailer wheel bearings. |

Note to Kristi...I will try to get the seat shipped out this weekend...or at least get it boxed for pickup if I don't find the time to make it to UPS. Best o luck with the Blast..it is a lot more motorcycle than most people give it credit for...I usually can ride at the front of the pack on group rides if the road is twisty (Message edited by fast1075 on June 04, 2009) |
