Well guys i have had some pretty bad luck i just totaled a 1125 about a month ago walked away scratch free. Last Saturday i was on my way home goin about 65mph. two deer walked out right in front of me. i didnt swerve or react really because there was no time i nailed a buck. It was the hardest impact i have ever had in my life. i flew over the handlebars and bounced down the road for about 100 yards. i stood up right away and thought i was 100 percent. as i was running around like a crazy man in someones front yard i felt two bones in my shoulder scrape each other gotta love that adrenaline. it was my collar bone it broke in three pieces. i also got two road rash knees and lower back. i have no idea what condition the bike is in i just remember it being covered in blood and deer shit. i had gauntlet gloves coat helmet and boots on just not my leather pants. The doc say the collar bone will take three months to heal so there goes my summer riding. |

Glad you're OK, so to speak. Did you keep the meat? Revenge tastes like venison. |

That sucks. I've done rehab time too. It's frustrating as hell. Every time I went to PT I had to mantra, "This too will pass". Kept me from having to strangle the upbeat physical therapist. Not that I could have at the time but I was thinking it the whole time. |

Thats a bummer man, but you came away pretty well. I also live in deer country, WI, and know the perils of those overgrown rodents. I try not to ride certain areas at certain times. When I cant avoid it, the constant vigilance takes the fun right out of the ride. It has also driven me to become an avid deer hunter! Heal fast! |

Glad to hear you are ok man! Those collar bones take a while to heal and I wish you the best of luck. LISTEN to what the doc says, your recovery time can be lenghtened dramaticly by pushing your luck with such an important part of your anatomy. My good buddy broke his last summer and is still having issues with it. I would suggest NOT falling down the stairs and rebreaking it as well, like he did. lol Sorry Tony, I had to say it. |

I broke mine, and had surgery to repair it. they screwed a plate on it and I was back to work in 5 weeks not the 3 months it would have taken. Plus it can heal in a Z shape and it will be easier to brake next time. Nicky Hayden had his fixed in the same way and was back racing in 2 weeks. I also had 8 ribs that had to heal though. |

Glad your OK, we don't have that many deer here in the UK but we do have deaf old people who wander into the road, same thing really. |

Get your collarbone operatively repaired. Do not let it heal on its own. Your arm will not function as well. Trust me on this one, I'm a doctor, really. |

I bought my Artic White 1125R on 12/20/08, and dumped it that day, separating my shoulder. Surgery on Christmas Day (Wife was less than happy.) I have been riding again for 3-4 weeks (900 miles)and doing well. Back to work at the end of the month. That which does not kill me makes me stronger.... |

Hey guys just letting you know my bike was totaled and it would be a good one to buy most of the parts were being replaced because of a scratch and the parts still functioned fine. The frame and swing arm had small scrathes and were being replaced. |

Glad your ok. We've all been there in some manner of fashion, and its never pleasant. I don't know why someone hasn't invented a device to mount to the bike that emits high pitched noise in front of the vehicle to get animals moving along... |
