Hello again fellow Buellers: A few weeks ago we sent you an email letting you know about some great deals on some high quality products for the X-1 like the Steering Dampers, Rear Sets and Pulley Covers from LSL. This is just a reminder that we must have an order together before the end of the month (items must be pre-sold to receive discounted pricing). We also wanted to let you know that ASB has their show bikes for sale. There are now pictures posted on our website ( www.americansportbike.com). Simply skip the intro page when logged on and they are posted on the top and bottom of the page. If you or anyone you know is interested in purchasing one of these bikes, they can be purchased for far less than replacement cost. And to make the deal even sweeter, if you refer someone and they buy the bike, you will receive a $500 gift certificate (you must call in advance and let us know who you referred to receive the gift certificate). |

Scrap/Richard, Track School at Oak Hill Raceway on Saturday February 8th! Get your CMRA license and help me show some of the IL4 crowd what for this year. First race weekend is February 22nd-23rd also at OHR. I plan to race GTU on Saturday. You could clean up in GTL on a <1210cc Firebolt. They also have a Supermotard class this year if you want to try racing your dirt tracker on DOT's. |

Wow. Glad I checked the profile. Scrap is *that* Richard. It hit me when I saw the "top speed attained" entry I can be pretty thick sometimes. So when *he* says he has a 130 horse firebolt, that means, well, he has a 130 horse firebolt. Awsome! Wonder how street friendly it is. We look forward to the details, dynos, and costs! |

Brad, I have been busy scanning pictures adjusting color and such. I also need to build a template for the photo pages I'm happy with. Also doing a bunch of tweaks to the style sheets to make everything work. I want to send out press releases to the print mags next week and internet mags near the end of next month. Lots to do to have a presentable site by than. I want to have at least 100 iamges in the bank when I start so I can do updates on a regular basis to keep the site fresh. |

Brad, your suggestions were great! Now it is mostly time. I am ambitious with this stuff and want to add feedback forms and logins and cookies etc. but some of that will wait. My next goal is a slide show, I have the javascript to do it just have to add all the pictures to it. I may hit you up for some help if you have time. dave |

LET ME GIVE YOU SOME FEEDBACK ON THAT by Randy Cassingham Buyers and sellers using the eBay online auction service depend on the feedback of those who went before them to decide whether or not to do business with other people on the service. Robert Grace, a Los Angeles attorney -- and the publisher of a legal newspaper -- sold six "Radio TV Digest" magazines from the 1940s and 1950s through eBay to Tim Neeley, a Hollywood morabilia dealer. Neeley was apparently unhappy with what Grace sent him: in his feedback, he said Grace "should be banned from eBay" and is "dishonest all the way" because the magazines arrived later than promised and in worse condition that he was led to believe. Grace demanded that eBay remove the negative feedback, but eBay refused. In response, Grace has filed suit demanding $100,000 from Neeley and $2.5 million from eBay. On its web site, eBay warns users that they can be held responsible for libel in feedback. "You are responsible for your own words," it tells users. "You should be careful about making comments that could be libelous or slanderous. You will not be able to retract or edit feedback you left." It's obviously impossible for an online service to monitor every posting by millions of members. Should it be liable for what someone else says on their service? Should it be required to edit the words of others when someone claims the words are unfair? The answers to those questions are worth millions to Grace. In addition to the money, Grace's lawsuit demands various actions by eBay. It wants the court to order the auctioneer to ban words like "fraud", "liar", "cheater", "scam artist" and "con man" from the site's feedback areas. In addition, it wants buyers and sellers to be forced to register their names with the state of California as "fictitious business names", and eBay to collect California state sales tax on sales made on the site. One wonders if Grace will soon be seeking more court orders to force online groups to ban a lot of other words. Like, say, "whiner", "crybaby", "arrogant", "meddlesome", "vengeful", "spoilsport", "muckraker", "profiteer" -- and "frivolous lawsuit". Interesting, -JW:> |
