As far as the upcoming meeting goes, it seems to look like it's going to rain. But regardless I could arrange it so that we can use the dealership conference room and we could order pizza's or something as a new place to meet. I need a show of hands for pizza head count and agreement on the idea. |

I hope the weather forecast is incorrect for tomorrow... I'd really like to get out on my bike. I haven't ridden much since the conversion. (Message edited by dobieg2002 on June 02, 2009) |

Yes, received my Silver gas cap yesterday... It actually looks really good in the black frame. Took it out last night for a quick ride an fill up. I'm about 98% complete. I'm still waiting for the throttle cable set to come in this week and a front wire harness guide. Once I get those installed I will be pretty much good to go. I may buy the clutch and brake hose set, mine are about 2 inches longer than the R and the bends in the Banjo bolt connectors are different. It doesn't cause any issues, but I'm trying to be as precise as possible. I don't want to have any safety issues due to equipment. It is strange it feels like a completely different bike. Is there a meeting at another location before Quaker Steak? We are getting together at Farrow's downtown at 6:30 as long as Neal has it hooked up. |

Hi Guys. It was nice meeting you guys @ Farrow's downtown. Is anyone going to the track event sponsored by Buell in July? Will they give us the latest model for demo ride? -Bruce Me and my roommate(SV650) are interested to ride Dragon. Do you have details of trip schedule and route? |

Will they give us the latest model for demo ride? They should have all the latest and greatest bikes there for you to roast the rubber off of them.... |

Dragon & BRP Details ummm...nope. haha! Seriously though, we're playing it pretty loose. The plan is basically: - Meet up Friday, June 26 somewhere on the North side in the Polaris area (yet to be determined). We plan to leave around Noon. - Ride approx. 380 miles to Knoxville, TN (this will be all highway riding - boring yes, but gets us to our destination quicker) - If we can all make it that far on Friday, great. If not, we'll stop somewhere overnight and finish the remainder early Saturday morning. - Ride the Dragon a few times, probably 3x (down, up, and back down) on Saturday. - Head over to the Blue Ridge Parkway Saturday afternoon. - Find some place to stay Saturday night (probably near Asheville). - Ride at least up to the Viaduct on the BRP Sunday. - Head back to Columbus Monday, back in Columbus Monday night. Now we do have lots of information, maps, gas stops on the BRP, etc., but we're just not making any hard motel plans along the way. We also don't know how aggressive we can all ride or how much we can handle, so we can do as little or as much riding and sight seeing as we like. Here's a bunch of info that we compiled about this: http://docs.google.com/View?id=dvf9cz9_17fdvk6dd2 Originally it was just me and a couple buddies (Kurt & Murph), but Murph had to bail. So Kurt and I figured we'd open it up to see if anyone else wanted to come along. We enjoy playing it pretty loose on trips, although we will gather a lot of information up front so we have options. Heck, we went to Costa Rica for a long weekend with nothing but flights and a couple potential destinations and had a blast! This trip is along those same lines - we want to ride the Dragon and see the Viaduct on the BRP, but other then that, we'll see how it goes. |
