There's enough room for a rear cylinder, which would sound like a much more fun bike to me. A lot of people here are missing the big reason why they used the thumper. from their site. ------- “Between us we’d designed, modified, built and ridden all sorts of motorcycles over the last 30 years and thought it was time to produce a motorcycle that reflected our philosophy. Our influences have been diverse and we’ve made unusual connections between genres of motorcycles such as choppers, Italian singles from the 1950s, flat-trackers and competition specials. What underpins Mac Motorcycles’ philosophy though is the belief that the riding experience and the stories that go with motorcycle journeys seem to have been hijacked by technology and plastic.” |

I was going to post that same comparison. The frame is VERY similar - and of course... there's not much else besides that and the motor. |

I'd buy one if the price was right. |

My take on the Roarer suspension is that there is a small pivoting link that connects the end of the upper slanted strut and the axle much like a trailing link front suspension only in the rear. Probably gives it about 3" travel. IMHO, I like the simpler suspensions on the other three models though. |

"Are these real motorcycles, or artists's conceptions?" The pictures you see are computer generated 3D concepts. (Notice both the front and rear wheels are the same size.) Just like the concept cars you see at the car shows the road going version will look significantly different, plate holders, mirrors, street legal lighting, etc. I still think it's a great concept. yes yes, its all good and well.... But can I run the g-d thing off road with some degree of reliability, light weight handling, and fuel capacity?... And a set of side bags for good measure. |

I want one, a Roarer please, just so when I stop somewhere people can say to me " What's that then?" I can then reply with " It's British but with a Buell motor, that's basically a Harley Sportster lump with the rear pot lopped off." By this time their eyes will have glazed over & they'll have forgotten to tell me I've got a headlight out. |

Guell, you need to ride a modified blast. Even jetting and throwing in the pro series cams awakens the bike and takes the MSF training wheels off. |

It sure is. I see a few import hurdles... No chain guard. No airbox (intake honk) The muffler appears to be performance oriented, which will not likely pass EPA. They are beautiful though. I hope they can traverse the minefield of regulations that is EPA and get these things imported without fundamentally changing what they are. |

The chopper mass-producers obviously get by with some of those items as well. Isn't there some provision in the EPA regs for small manufacturers? |

From what I can tell by the site, they haven't made a decision yet as to which of the 4 models will be the first produced. If you send them an email, they ask for your preference. I sent them a hello, and voted for the Peashooter. The Spud runs a very close second in my book. |
