I've only ever seen one and it was at a show So today I'm out and about and here comes one! Sidecar and all. A bit later another one is heading south and I zip pass him and her! NOT the same bike this one was red the other green. Of course I've only seen a couple of other Buells and never more than one at a time. Some times I think Buell only built like 3 bikes! Wonder what the dealer network is like on the Ural! Looked cool I like the "Gear Up" one two wheel drive...just the thing for winter and snow! http://www.imz-ural.com/ |

Fifteen years ago, my Landlord and good friend got a Ural with a sidecar so he could take his German Shepherd with him for rides. He also used it to haul my ass to Laconia in 1997 when I was still on crutches from my accident. Urals are crude and don't make much power, but they are definitely different. |

I've been thinking about trying to find a used Ural to extend my Chicago riding year round. Too bad used Urals are few and far between. I love Urals! Oddball goodness, just like my Uly. |

Dave - great vid! I haven't seen anyone getting air on their Ural like those boys. Maybe I'll look into getting an anti-tank missile launcher on mine, too I could have used a TOW missile at least half a dozen times commuting last week alone! |

I have one - 2006 Gear Up....more fun than you can imagine, you just can't get anywhere on time due to all the folks that stop and chat! Simple to work on, probably under 40hp (top speed with a tail wind about 70, but it really likes to stay in the 60-65 range..or slower), year-round riding - 2 wheel drive makes winter snow storms a blast! |

There's a great ride report thread on advrider about a cross-country trip with a Ural: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35 4338&highlight=ural They basically gave the guy a Ural and told him to ride it all over and post his experiences. This gives you a very good look at living with one of these bikes and how far their QC has come since their early days in the U.S. IIRC he had one really significant issue (head studs pulling out of the block) but it was caught and repaired under warranty. The Ural looks like it'd be a lot of fun. (Message edited by hughlysses on June 01, 2009) |

I got one for Christmas 2008 and it hasn't stopped since. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_sZtZLaRBg There are times there were only me, the Ural and Snowplow Trucks on the road. What a blast |
