Could someone with a 9s tell me how the headlights mount up (pics would be great). I'm planning on installing a set on my naked SV650, but want to make sure they'd mount up properly first. Thanks Patrick 01 SV650 |

Here's a link to an online XB9S roadtest. No subscription required. Pardon me if this has been posted or seen by all already. 2WF is an old bookmark that I haven't hit in a while. 2WF (Two Wheeled Freaks) XB9S road test) Steve |

Prof, If I'm not mistaken, that photo is taken from Magnolia Bluff, or the park on the south side of the bluff looking across Elliot Bay at Alki Point and your bike is pointed at the Space Needle. map here Great place for a photo. |

Court - I'll send you the uncropped and uncompressed file from work (faster line). Glad you like it. Mikej - ding ding ding, we have a winner! Now for the grand prize, what was the name of the Harley hangout over there for Thursday tacos? |

I'm lost on that one. For food I usually went over by Shilshole Bay and a couple of small stands near the ship canal along the way between Fremont and Shilshole. Of course this was many years ago and things have changed a lot since then. |

The "Taco Thursday" Harley hangout was at the Alki Tavern but police and new high-rises squeezed the life out of the 200+ motorcycle gathering. Now just a few bikers go there. Progress... |

Warning, Blake is pissed post follows... Prof_Stack, Just noticed your post from 1/7... "Thanks to Ralphthe3rd's work, there is a new XB9S group on Yahoo. In the first day there are 6 members. Take a look and sign up if you want to talk things XB9S. Oh yeah, he assigned me as moderator. Guess he's still sore that I traded in the Blast for the Lightning. Yahoo XB9S Group " I guess we should delete this topic and just post a link to your new yahoo board? WTF? If you want to start your own discussion board, fine. But please tell me how you feel justified in announcing it here? I guess you'd rather support the sponsors of Yahoo's forums than those supporting BadWeB and I guess you appreciate much more all the hard work Ralphthe3rd has done versus that of the BadWeB crew. I let the Blast board thing go, I should have said something there too. See ya. Have fun at Yahoo. |

Blake, I sent you an email a few days ago and another a few weeks ago. Was wondering if you received them. I sent them to blake@badweatherbikers.com. It was about sponsorship of the site. Please reply! Thanks! |

at least I had somewhere to go the other day when badweb was down. 8o( I like that pic, I've been over to Alki a few times, usually go down to the place in fife. I guess I'm too late for the one in enumclaw, the yellow beak? I saw that it burned down last week. Hopefully this spring I'll have a black 9s as well... or HCB/N 12S! |

Blake - what's biting you? Don't worry, I won't put any more marks on you. If you can, take a look at the postings at the Yahoo XB9S site. There isn't much traffic at all. Most of the comments are inquiries and miscellaneous topics rather than the more erudite postings on BWB. Sort of a BWB-101. Notice my posting lamenting BWB being down on Sunday. BWB is the first place I come to when I log on. Ralph_the_3rd created the Yahoo XB9S and then put me in charge, all without asking, after I e-mailed him looking for a Yahoo site about XB9S. I thought he could point me to one but he created one instead. I reluctantly said okay and started to learn how to moderate. Now it's kind of fun and I'm glad Ralph did it. BTW - the Yahoo Blast site IS the place for Blast information these days, at least judging by the traffic there. "My" site, by comparison, is pretty slow. Although there are 25 members, I'm not sure how many actually access the site, since I'm pretty new at this moderator thing. If it's sponsors you are concerned about, take note that my intent is the sharing of information and that BWB will be #1 on my list for the forseeable future. BTW, my own website of things Buell/Harley is http://www.dlux.net/~nhardy/index3.htm and there are NO sponsors there! Finally, you stated correctly that on 1/7 I mentioned the Yahoo XB9S site. I don't believe I've done so on any since then and definitely not recently. You may have done the job for me. Just trying to get along... |

We regularly mention The Borg & ATC here so whats the difference? Most of us belong to a shitload of boards. Hell Blake I know you post on the other 2. Aaron posts on ATC, Court even posted on Sporttwin a few times. If its ad $$ you are interested in, may I suggest you talk to Scott over at ATC? he has gotten a bunch of sponsors lately. Doing a hell of a job selling the place. Ask him what he's doing, he may have a few pointers. I think getting all huffy over a Yahoo site, which you & I both know are here today & gone tomorrow, is kinda petty. |

Never mind... As far as BadWeB being down. It was not down as far as I know. There was a massive internet worm attack that slowed/disabled parts of the entire web. Some may not have been able to reach certain sites before their connection timed out. Read the news lately? |

>>>We regularly mention The Borg & ATC here so whats the difference? Most of us belong to a shitload of boards. Hell Blake I know you post on the other 2. Aaron posts on ATC, Court even posted on Sporttwin a few times. Very rarely do I take the time to "surf". Frankly, I thought ATC had pretty much fizzled out and didn't know they still had a bulletin board. The SportTwin site I see perhaps once a month it's a valuable consolidated info source. The balance of the Buell sites I may see a couple times a year. My habits roughly parallel, I think, a couple pals within the company. The CompuServe Motorcycle Forum used to be THE place for Buell dicussions. Erik and I were there nightly and it was quite lively. I saved and printed most those discussions and they constantly remind me of "the good old days". Next came Motorcycle.com. I was on my 5th Buell then and met a couple newcomers named Aaron and Blake. Badweb flowed from that and serves as the SOLE source of definitive (insert standard "difinitive vs. internet" caveat) Along the way, we had the www.buell.com owners discussion board (similar to the current BMW Owners board on the BMWUSA site) that lasted for about 7 heartbeats until the debacle with the fairing bracket and some short sited Jr. JD decided that the best way to embrace owners was to run, hide, deny and stand mute. I think that "advertising" other website, in direct competition with Badwb, is akin to asking your wife to use her laptop to scan the photos on the dating service. More than anything, I'd chalk it up to simple courtesy and admit that to those who've played in the sandbox, at no personal cost of time or money, the stakes would appear much lower. The internet, the anonymity it offers and the ability of anyone with a $100 computer to be a self-declared "expert" can be scary. My personal grip is with those with names like "BikerDude8", "V-TwinMother" and others diguise themselves and foster rumors and misinformation about Buell and Buells. It keeps those of use like Aaron, Blake, Peter and Court busy shooting DOWN rumors. I didn't read Blake's response as "pissed", just a frank "please don't do it here" statement. Seems reasonable. The First Amendment prohibits Congress from passing laws that inhibit free speech. That's very different from requiring individuals to provide a forum for other individuals with a message they disagree with. In fact, if Congress were to do such a thing, you could argue that it'd be a violation of the First Amendment. |

Screw - the real point is that there is more than one way to say 'no don't do that' and that was'nt it. For people monitering other people's posts... etc. show a little tact(lol) and chill. Both the Prof and Ralph have had nothing but good to say about this forum and have continued to recomend it highly to all that have stoped by their sites. The reason the other sites even exist is because as much as I favor the BAD WEB -still its not really that much social as informative - I've(God help me)learned 80% of everything about Buell's here and will continue to devour said info. I've bought product from almost all your vendors, and will probably continue to do so. However I've learned one thing about this forum and that is do'nt waste their time with nicities or social bike chit chat - you will be ignored or asked to go elsewhere(unless you belong to that inner circle of long timers)(thus yahoo, etc...)Hell - I've had a hard time getting you guys to answer any questions about the Blast outside the Blast forum, yet you can rarely if ever get a question inside the Blast forum answered because its filled w/newbe's(pardon spelling and term)and the rest of you rarely drop by. My .02 cents worth. Just Blasting on the Dark side! EZ |

Another "bad weather" shot, sort of. Today's 80 mile ride was detoured by this flooding. There is not supposed to be ANY depth of water in this scene. East of Seattle

Anyone know where to find a tank bra for the XB9S? Buell's web site has the same part # for both the Lightning & the 'Bolt, trouble is it's got the 'Bolt's logo embroidered on it & not the Lightning's. A plain black one would be just fine, thanks. I've looked on Lockhart Phillips & Targa's site, but didn't find one. |
