I know there have been several threads on this topic...but I was wondering if Buell has addressed the issue. I am getting my third left rear signal installed on Saturday and I am hoping that the visits to the dealer are over. |

>>>I was wondering if Buell has addressed the issue. Yes. When it first surfaced. At the risk of reposting old information. The "white stripe" is meaningless. You want Rev "D" of the turn signals, there will be a "D" suffix on the part number on the box. Any doubt, open the unit (there is a small phillips head screw) and look for GRAY sealant inside (GOOD) not BLACK sealant (BAD) Next question. |

Court - I just ordered a pair since both mine went out recently. $48 each. Do I have any recourse since I'm out of warranty? |

How can you be out of warranty with a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty? |

Thank-You Court! I will pass this info on to my dealer. I knew that Buell was aware of the issue but given that my left signal died a second time within three months I wasn't sure if the problem had been solved. |

Yepper, mine just went out today finally. 2008 1125r with 4300 miles. Right side died. Talked to the Techs about it and they are going to go ahead and order two incase the left one fails. No worries though. Hands signals work... |

Does anyone know why there are actually two different part numbers for the left and right rear signals? I have looked them over pretty closely, and can't really see any difference other than the label on the box. |

I was patient last year and replaced three left read signals under warranty. My second time out this year on the 1125, the right rear died on me. I understand that problems happen, but having to ride 50 miles to my preferred dealer and schedule an appointment during the busy season for Harleys is a challenge. The folks at Uke's have been great to me, but I think I had 10 or 11 service visits last year for recalls, signal failures, mirror replacements, and my initial service. I just want to ride, not visit my friendly dealership. I know that other bikes have problems too, but these constant little issues wear me down. Fortunately (if you can call it fortunate), the recall notice for the front brakeline arrived before I had a chance to replace the right-rear signal, so my bike is at Uke's for both repairs plus a check of any/all service bulletins so I can hopefully stay out of the Service area for a while. I know Buell is trying, but these things do matter. I bought the 1125 based on the belief that extensive testing had addressed most issues. Last summers issues with drivablility and things breaking was not fun. Things improved with each ECM update, so I've stuck with it, but I'm about ready to move to something else if the pattern continues. Oh well.... George |

George, you are very articulate. I understand your experience and have tried to also articulate how important those "little things" can be when they add up. Saying they were fixed long ago is not honest as far as the customer experience and less than honest communication creates doubt as it makes hard to discern what else is less than accurate speak. ___________________________________ Disclaimer; BrapBrapBrap does not currently own an 1125 but looks forward to getting a water cooled Buell. FWIW- I read all of the problems that people have had with the turn signals on here, so when mine went out, I just replaced it with an aftermarket signal. It cost about $33-$35 after tax and everything. I have the fender eliminator "Tail Tidy" from evotech and was thinking about replacing the signals anyway. This just made up my mind for me quicker. It ended up looking really good. Shock Racing Mini-1 Black LED turn signals stock# 222-1001 The flash rate is the same with these aftermarket LEDs. The only thing I had to do was make a jumper with some connectors (snap connector, 16-14 gauge, male & female) from radio shack, since the connectors did not match up to the Buell factory connectors and I did not want to cut off the OEM connectors on the bike side.

Simple fix. . . You want to see a box that looks like this:
This is what you DO WANT (note gray sealant)
This is what you DO NOTWANT (note black sealant)
But I'm a construction worker so check with your AUTHORIZED BUELL DEALER for accurate information. |

Court ... 2 questions. 1. Do you know if it is possible to have the Rev D replacements sent to a dealership and installed prior to waiting for the turn signals to stop working? I have one that is out now, and after reading your post this morning I checked the other one ... sure enough it has the black sealant. Both signals have already been replaced before. 2. My dealership stated today that they had not heard of the Rev D replacements. Do you know whether or not the dealerships were ever informed of these replacements? For some reason, it seems as though the dealerships are not always real excited to hear about what I read on Badweb. Thanks for your help. |

My left signal just went out on my CR. I guess it wasn't corrected for 09? MFG date 09/08. |

Jerseyguy gave me his failed signals. I handed them off to a buddy who does DC circuitry for a living. Hopefully he can figure out what failed and make a repair. ac |

Does anyone else find this somewhat humourous? What is a *racing* turn signal? "Uh, guys, just wanna let you know I'll be going off-track in turn 4..." |

Black9, Am with you on your comment. Brapbrapbrap said he was not coming back....but then there he is. I kind of hesitate in saying anything, but....Brap, I appreciate your right to say whatever you want to say. You don't own a Buell. We don't even know if you can drive a car....or are even old enough to drive. The issue is one of credibility. Having seen a book on the shelf at the book store on mountain climbing doesn't make you a Mount Everest guide. Brap man, that is why folks get irritated with you. Yes, we know you love Buell, because you never miss an opportunity to disparage Buell. |

Black...Actually, Brap's profile indicates he has a 2006 XB12R. Just to clarify, I still think he's a nitpicking, can't-stop-repeating-the-same-thing, naysaying turd. However, he does appear to own at least one Buell. |

WHY does this come up again and again? The issue has been addressed. I am still going on a signal from last fall. I consider it a non-issue, but if you have to classify it as an issue, it's WAY down the list. as a matter of fact, the only issue that hasn't been addressed YET is the weeping clutch cover. |

"WHY does this come up again and again" Was a recall issued so everyone could come get the new model signals? Maybe there are still some faulty older ones out there? |

Of course there are some older ones out there...some that will fail and some that will last. i don't see any reason to fault Buell about how the signal issue was handled. Replace them as they fail. Seems like everyday a new thread about the signal, solenoid, hot engine, flashes. Is the search function broken or what? |
