Why can't this deal be made. Sponsorship cost x dollars per race or season. Establish a cost for a secondary sponsorship of the bike and run a Badweb logo. Let us, as badweb members, cover the cost of the sponsorship. It could be set as a per race deal, so for each race x dollars contributed allows for the logo to be on the bike for that race. This could be set up for all privateers riding Buells, I'm sure Walt Sipp and the others would appreciate some sponsor $ as well. Just need to negotiate the deal. Set up like this, it would still be fan support, but would not seem like "donations" just a regular business sponsorship, advertising badweb. |

I sent Shawn the following in an e-mail I have been following the efforts to get some grass roots support for your race team on BW. Please give some of these suggested ideas some serious thought. To do that I want to relate to you a short success story that one of the Local BMW Teams had this year following their AFM Open Twin mishap. During the first race of the season at Button Willow while running a very strong 2nd and pushing hard for the lead the bike got totaled. The owner, BMW of San Jose realized that for them the AFM Open Twins Championship season was over. The dealership did not have, nor could they justify the money to just go racing. When their rider came with the proposal if I can raise the money to get it back on the track can we go to Miller for that round? The short answer was yes and he found enough on-line team supporters to fund the effort. If there is any one group with the passion even close to that of Buell riders and your biggest supporters, it would be a group of hard core BMW owners. Shawn, please consider giving us a chance to support you some way. We are all proud of the job Danny, Mike and the RMR Team is doing, but your sort of our guy and we want to find a way to say thanks for all your efforts in the past, by helping you now. Let's hope it works Terry - www.jtsperformance.com |
