Specifically a Ford explorer sport trac? I know this is a kind of silly question, but since I'm probably going to have to find a way to go pick up an XB I need to know what kind of options I have for fetching it. |

I "think" it will with the tailgate down. If it's not a Uly and you have ~77"+ in the tailbed, you should be just fine. |

I barely fit my XB12R into the bed of an 86 Toyota 4x4 with the gate up. Get the bike angled in your exploder and you may be able to close it. |

Cheese has the closest comparison. Just Sat. I got a little tore up with Mr. Daniels and my buddies put the 9R in the back of a short bed truck. Goes from corner to corner with the tail gate up... |

It should fit fine with the tailgate down. Sport-tracs have a real short bed though so i doubt it will be able to with the bed up |

According to da google. 2007 sport trac bed dimensions 50 X 61. So a^2+b^2=c^2 gives me 78" for the length from corner to corner. Xb12s overall length 76.2" So in theory it just might fit with the gate up (will be close anyways...) |

Yes, I had mine in a shortbox Dakota, gate down not on an angle. |

That's a mis-leading title. You don't have a short-bed truck, you have a 1/2 bed SUV. |

My XB9R fit in the back of my Sonoma crew cab with the tailgate down. I think it's close in size to the SportTrac. 4ft bed. |

Ryan you have a nice Jetta.... why??? Get a small trailer. I had a element for 5 years. While it was a very practical car/truck it was boring as hell. Now I have the wrx and its just frigg'n to much fun. |

Yes. Ur bolt will fit into a short bed pickup. Ranger shortbed=yes. F-150 shortbed=yes. Explorer sport-trac= not a pickup truck. But I'm sure it will fit with the tailgate down. (sorry bout the rant. I just hate the way the car maufacturers describe what vechicles are anymore. It's a cross over. It's a sport wagon. It's a SUT. I just needed to vent.) |

It should fit with the tailgate down. The Sporttrac bed is shorter than your normal shortbed. But my track coach in high school had a sporttrac that he hauled his CBR in, which I believe has a wheelbase of over 54", 2" longer than an XB. |

What makes it not a pickup truck? Its RWD, has a body on frame, and separate bed. They still can haul and tow a lot. Given how the first SUVs were just enclosed pickup trucks, I don't see the difference. |

Sorry to keep dragging this of topic. But... Ryan you have a nice Jetta.... why??? It's a GTI (golf), and while it is indeed nice and fun. It's got issues I'm getting tired of dealing w/ and worrying about. It was all worth it before my Buell, but now I'd like something reliable/useful that my wife can drive when we vacation. We've already got a truck so a small SUV (crossover or whatever) will fit the bill perfectly. And for the record. I think the Ford Sport Trac is a truck. |

The sport trac is a truck. Based on an explorer frame. Bed on it. That does make it a truck. And a good offroad truck from my personal experiance. But building F-150's warps your mind into thinking all trucks are supposed to be big. And curious, is it that big of problem to just leave the tailgate down after you load the bike in? For years I hauled snowmobiles and 4wheelers in the bed of trucks while leaving the gate down. And I use a condor(got one cheaper then brand new) and it makes strapping a bike down a gagillion times easier then without one. And far less chance of a tip over. |

My xb12scg would fit in my quad cab frontier with the gate down, never tried to corner the bike tho- and it fits in my 07 reg cab short bed ram with the gate up fine. |
