Does anyone have the 1" additional drop pegs from Precision Eng? Lately with my creaky knees and bad hip I'm finding the Uly somewhat cramped. One inch more leg room might make a big improvement in the comfort level for me. I'm running the stock '06 seat so I do have the highest seat. Before dropping $150+ I want to have some input. They are pricey but are very well made, installed easily and work great. I have a 37 inch inseam and these do help. | ||

What sort of input are you looking for? I have them. They look fine. Your feet will not slip off of the peg. Install is easy. And they give you another inch of drop. I added them to give me a little more room. One of two reasons for changing to the '06 seat (the other was to reduce that forward tilt that the '07 seat has). I also added 2" risers to the handle bars. I put the pegs on 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately, the bike was down for the next 3 weeks while I got new wheel bearings. Therefore, I don't have a real clear before and after riding impression. | ||

This is the info I was hoping to hear. I'm assuming that the rear brake pedal height can be adjusted to the correct setting with the lower pegs? Looking at the shifter I see that there is adjustment to lower the pedal for the lower pegs. Thanks, David | ||

I've considered doing this mod, but I'm waiting on more feedback concerning the reduced ground clearance. I touch down the OEM peg feelers occasionally, and need to be certain that I won't have an issue.  | ||

David, I did not feel the need to adjust the rear brake pedal. That pedal always seemed to be adjusted too low. It now feels better. The change was not enough to make me want to adjust the shift lever either. I don't have delicate little feet (size 14)so I might not be the right person to judge. As fas as touching the pegs on the ground, the only way that will happen with me on the seat is just before my rear end touches the ground. | ||

They aren't named Precision Engineering for nothing! Quality stuff & I did no lever adjusting either. | ||

I should add one thing - the pegs like the original ones are spring loaded. A minor touch down will not leverage the wheels off of the ground. | ||

You could also try the pegs with the 2" drop - I have these and love them. I'm 6'2" and use the original seat on my 06. I probably should have adjusted the rear brake lever, but I just got used to it! | ||

Staves: I think that the stock Uly pegs have 1" drop so therefore the pegs with 2" drop are 1 inch lower than stock... which is probably what some mean when they refer to 'additional' 1" drop... (Message edited by growl on May 22, 2009) | ||

I put these pegs on and love them. I have scraped my boot a couple of times but no biggie. Makes my bad knee feel better as I'm 6'1" with a stock '06 seat. Better grip on the peg a swell. The insert they sent for installation was cool too. No fighting the spring, just pop 'em in. Worth the $150 IMHO. | ||

Well I went for a long ride today and got to really experience the new pegs. After a while I didn't even notice a difference as they felt like normal. Then I raised my foot up an inch and thought, that sucks! One tip I might add is if you readjust the shifter, use the adjusting linkage. I put mine on while changing the stator so I had the shifter off the shift shaft. When I returned it I found that moving it just one spline put the shifter where I wanted it. Well after checking and double checking my primary chain slack due to hard shifting it finally dawned on me that now the linkage was no longer 90 degrees to the adjusting rod. It was past center so as I was lifting the shifter I was losing leverage causing my hard shifts. When I got back I set it at 90 degrees to the adjuster and moved the adjuster to bring it back. Took a short ride and it made a huge difference. Amazing how geometry works, and you thought you were never going to use that crap when you were in high school!!!  | ||

Well that does it...I'm going to order a set of the additional 1" drop pegs. Other than cramped legs and knees (for me) this bike is fantastic! If these pegs even relieve half of the leg room issue they will go a long way to increasing my enjoyment of this bike. David | ||
