my wife went down on her blast last week when her front tire slid out while turning into a campground (asphalt transitioning to dirt road). only scraped her knee and got banged up a bit despite wearing armor(except for jeans), only her ego/pride is hurting now. i need a rear turn signal and a shifter peg if anybody has takeoffs/spares, i'd be willing to pay for them. please PM me.... thanks in advance. |

Just picked up ANOTHER Blast (I had one four years ago, sold it and moved.) A 2001, in yellow. Just noticed that the left footpeg support bracket (that damned thing that gets in the way of the derby cover) is bent inward, practically touching the primary cover. Anybody got a spare straight one lying around? Be happy to pay shipping and pay it forward! Oh and if anyone has a spare (straight) shifter lever that would be fantastic too! Click my name to send a PM if you can help. Thanks! |

Oh, and a couple other things (sorry, not trying to be greedy, just checking here first before I go buying new!): Left flyscreen/headlight bracket (straight, uncut) Yellow flyscreen (mine is pretty scratched up) Left front turn signal (or at least the clear lens cover) Thanks again! |

A caution on used Y-frames (footpeg support brackets). Its almost impossible to tell a straight Y-frame from a slightly bent Y-frame without bolting it onto the bike. Sorry, I cant help you out with parts...this time! |

Thanks! Glad to be back. I understand what you're saying about the Y-frames. That's why in the end I'm probably going to go new. |

Have an 00 (or maybe 01?) - just discovered it has a trip reset switch... bad news, discovered it because it's broken. On mine, this switch is mounted on the L handbar under the turn signal control. Happy to pay for the switch and shipping. Could also use a new shifter peg (or at least the rubber, since the rubber tore when I went down). I don't mind shifting the bolt, but it doesn't do anything for appearances. |

Welcome Settda! I might be tired, but I havent a clue as to what switch you are talking about? The trip reset switch is under the speedo on the 'dash'. Peg rubber part number is N0510.D ($1.30). I've never been able to get a used one off without breaking it. |

not the hi/low beam switch on the left there is hi/low beam turn signal below that horn and on lower front side of the control is a hi beam flash you operate with your index finger -separate from hi/low and has a hi beam graphic the trip switch is on the speedo hit once to change between od/trip push and hold to reset trip |

Huh...never noticed that before (the high beam flash). I don't do much night time riding. Learn something new everyday! |

Thank you! You totally answered my question on that switch. And that explains why I haven't noticed any issues with riding the bike with it broken Seriously... $1.30 for the rubber peg.. sure beats the $30 the parts guy was quoting! |

I would encourage all new Blasters to check here before paying for parts or service (especially e-bay). We are usually more familiar with Blasts than the parts or service guys |

My 2002 Blast is for sale. Asking $1900 for it. I'm the original owner. I park it in the carport in front of the Jeep so it has been sheltered since day 1. It has a windshield and a pro series cam if you're into that sort of thing. Check it out -- call 408-730-0600 |

I finally got out to assess the damage on my 2000 Blast after the wreck almost 2 weeks ago that I posted about in the Tales section. I woulda been out sooner for sure if not for the wounded ankle/foot. It looks like I am minus a windscreen, 2 blinkers, and mirrors as far as safety goes. The major thing I saw is a bent rear axle, and I hadn't gotten around to tryin to find one or price it. I'm guessing the rear sprocket will have to be changed as well. If anyone could help me out on any of this I'd be much obliged. I'm gonna have to fix my bike one piece at a time I guess. Right now I'm a student full time and the Blast was my everyday cruiser, usually reliable and good fuel economy, and not to mention I just prefer 2 wheels. I'm gonna get it going again, in a matter of time I reckon. Thanks. (Message edited by truthnexile on December 12, 2009) (Message edited by truthnexile on December 12, 2009) |

Being one of the nicest looking set ups made, $400 would be a bargain for them. |

I have a clutch lever, just sent you a PM. I've had good luck using Iron Machine for Blast parts, you can probably find the shifter lever and speedo shroud there if no one has one to pass along. http://www.ironmachine.com Buellster sells used parts off crashed or totaled Buells. http://www.buellsterparts.com/ Good luck, and ATGATT! |
