I go into my local (non-buell) HD dealer from time to time for "sportster" parts, and this last time I made the mistake of looking at the xr1200's they have and letting a salesperson take my information. I get a call from an employee this afternoon who had a 4 question survey about my experience talking with sales, anyway I ended up stopping the lady on the phone politely, and told her that I love the dealer's service but until they offer buells then there's no way ill be buying a new bike from them. A while later she calls back and says that they will almost certainly never deal buells, but that when I decide on a model I should let them know and they can get a specific bike for me. Wtf? Is that true? Just in case I asked if that means they can order buell parts afterall.. It doesn't. I let her know that ill buy plenty of buell parts with hd pn#s anyway. |

I have no idea if this is how it works, but this what I think they are doing... They will purchase the bike you want from a Buell dealer or Buell itself at their corporate discount, and then sell it to you for at or near MSRP. They won't make as much on the bike as an authorized Buell dealer, but they will still make money, and make you a satisfied customer (who will hopefully keep coming back to buy more). |

they will almost certainly never deal Buells BUT they won't hesitate to sell you one without being able to support you and your new bike eh... Some dealers have just forgot all about customer care |

My local H-D dealer is the same way. They called me to say they had a XR1200 on the floor. I told them unless they start carrying Buells that I won't be buying anything from them. So many dealers need to pull their head out of their ass. |

I ordered parts from a non-Buell H-D dealer not knowing that I couldnt..... Apparently the dude helping me didnt know either. I got a call a week later from the dealer telling me that they couldnt get my parts b/c they are not a Buell authorized dealer. Ugh. Had to go & get my $$$ back, which was another ordeal. They wanted me to order other stuff or buy a shirt or something. I pitched a total fit & got my $ back & took it somewhere else. |

I got a good one for you all. I knew a lady who bought a Buell Blast from a certain dealer which is a HD only dealer who prides itself on Rider's Edge. They sold her a Buell Blast with a warrenty, after she bought it she wanted to take it back to the same dealer for service, and guess what, they turned her away with the messege " we don't service Buells!" Meanwhile they service their training fleet of Buell Blasts for their program! It was a training bike they sold her. Piss poor, I never go to this dealer. K |

^ ^ ^ that's just dirty. I've never been treated quite that poorly but if it ever happens I'll definitely not be leaving without a few words. |

maybe the dealership has a sister dealership? I know the dealership close to me has told me before to let them know ahead of time for anything buell and they can get it for me because they have a sister dealership that sells buell. but they don't |
