so i've had my bike for about a year now and after my last oil change (i serviced it myself) evidently i didn't tighten my chin fairing bolts up as tight as i should have. the bolts have vibrated out and now i only have two left holding the chin fairing in place. the dealership in murfreesboro tn couldn't sell me the bolts without also selling me a new chin fairing. i dont need the dang fairing, just the bolts! im worried im gonna lose the whole fairing going down the road. does annyone know where i can buy the bolts? P.S.they are also the same bolts that hold our airbox covers on. |

I've lost a couple of mine also. All I did was replace them with some 1/4" stainless washers and 1/4-20 stainless allen bolts. I installed them with some blue loc-tite and haven't lost one yet. |

you are talking about the shoulder screw, right? the ones on the sides of the spoiler? any dealer should be able to get them, not readily available at the hardware store with the shoulder. p/n CA0012.02A8, SCREW, SHOULDER, 1/4-20X.66 W/2510 PATCH, $2.95 list not the same as the air box cover screw; they may work though? p/n CA0018.02A8, SCREW, SHOULDER, 1/4-20, STAINLESS (no length given), $2.75 (Message edited by sleez on May 20, 2009) |

the dealership in murfreesboro tn couldn't sell me the bolts without also selling me a new chin fairing That's odd. I bought 6 from Bumpus HD last year. You must have gotten the new guy. |

I just bought a spare package of each of the bolts and washers on the Uly. Easy and they are a separate part number. Should be no problem and cost less than lunch. Once a month I go over the entire bike and check for loose/missing fasteners and torque/replace as necessary. |

I bought some tuesday. Well...ordered of course, they never have anything in stock for buells. I'm still waiting on right side lowered peg since february. They sent the wrong one twice already. I torqued them down to the proper specs a few weeks ago when I changed plastics, but I didn't use loctite because I have to take it off everytime I do an oil change. Bad idea. Over about 2 weeks I lost 4 out of 7 bolts, plus the bolts I replaced the rivets with on one side. That side was held on only by the black bolt that mounts to the very front of the muffler. I guess I'll use lower-strength loctite. |

I have had great luck so far (35,000 miles between 2 Firebolts) with "Gud-n-tight". |

Airbox cover bolts are the same. Just a different part #. One of mine was missing the other day. |
