I constantly see what look like different takes and i would like to have all the differences cleared up by someone who knows. I think i like what looks like the smallest tank. |

AFAIK, not including S2 and earlier; there is the small tank from the early S1, similar to the early M2 tank. the larger "manta" tank from the S3 and S1W. then in 99 the X1 had the tank separate from the cover, and the "manta" tank was on the S3 and M2 but the S3 was different because of the FI pump sump area. |

Sleez pretty much got it small tank s1/m2 Manta with a petcock s3-m2 FI manta 99+ s3 x1 used the same fuell tank through its years, but had 2 different covers, one with nostrils in it 99, and one that had none |

anyone know if the carb and FI versions of the manta have the same shape in the plastic molding on the bottom? I've got a '97 S3 tank that i'd like to use with an EFI motor. |

thanks for the information, does anyone know if the material the tank is made out of would be alcohol safe? |
