Well I was lookin at my bike yesterday. And saw my front tire didn't look normal. Lookin at it closer the center is wore flat! About and inch and a half wide. Look at the back and its fine. Both still have a lot of tread. And the bike doesn't even have 2k miles on it. Also on the rear there is less then an inch on both sides of chicken strips. So I do lean it over idk if this is normal or what

It *could* be an overinflated tire, but I think JT and Clark are right - I would try the suspension, but check the air pressue as well.

Well what's wrong with my suspension. Its not my fault Buell doesn't have. A setting for someone who weighs 135lbs its always been too stiff

If it's stiff for 4 hours, you're supposed to call your doctor.

: D

Or...

You probably need to re-spring BOTH ends if you're about 135 pounds. When you do a spring change, you can't any longer use the manual for setting sag/pre-load, you have to measure directly (not using the lines on the forks)

well i dont know jack squat about suspension i have posted this stiff problem here before but no real luck with the answers.. i am not racing so i didnt think i needed to drop buco bucks into the suspension just soi wont waist a front tire every 1600miles.. if thats the case and it does need re done i think im going to have a kind word with my dealer and its on them.... or dont sell a bike to a skini guy.. jus like they wouldnt let the fat guy sit in 1 airplan seat they make him get 2 or he cant fly? yeah make me get whats needed and awake before buying the bike or fix it for me... im super mad right now. i dont have the money for another tire let alone getting my suspension done

Ride with lead weights in your pockets...

I don't see how the suspension being too stiff would cause the front tire to wear so fast in the center. If anything, being lighter should make the tires last longer since they have less load on them. Maybe someone has experienced this before and has evidence that it was due to improper suspension settings...

If you do in fact need to install lighter springs, you might want to talk to the dealer and ask them if they'll install the new springs for free if you pay for the springs. They don't really cost that much, and that should be the only thing to buy to make the suspension work for you.

Rocketstarblast1, Hey you dont need to be a suspension tuner to set up your bike, simply follow the manual out is pretty informative all the way down to Ride Quality Enhancement... See link; this is for the 2008 not sure what yours is. Give it a try you will be amazed at the difference...

did you apply the "Ride Quality Enhancement" settings?; and when you say the susp. was stiff, was it winter or at least less than 65F?; you made need to apply these settings as well "Cold Weather Riding Less Than 65° F (18° C)"...

I would say since your @ 140 + or - gear call it an even 150 and try doing the Ride Quality Enhancement settings, then go one step further and add the Cold Weather Riding Less Than 65° F (18° C) settings if your ride is still to stiff. The next step would be more involved and that would be changing springs fluid etc... (costly) or eat more doughnuts (that was a joke). Try doing the settings and see what it does for you...

im a twiggy-a$$ also, at about 140 lbs. mayyybe 150 with gear and backpack with a couple things in it.

my bike just ticked 8300 miles and ive gone through 1 rear tire at approx 4100 miles. as of right now my front tire is finally squared off and bald; the rear has steel showing through.

my front tire looked very acceptable, and performed awesome at 4000 miles.

i havent adjusted the suspension any more than adjusting rear pre-load for longer distance 2-up riding

you probably have something else going on.

How about a close up picture of your front tire?.......might be worth a few words.....might get more serious discussion that way....
(just trying to help.....)
