The good: Florida is getting much needed rain. Grass is greener, fires are now under control. The bad: Funds are tight, I'm going to try to squeeze another years wear out of my Frogg Togg's (rain gear). The ugly: Apparently, at some point, I shoved my Frogg Toggs into my saddle bags before they were completely dry and now they smell kinda like old unwashed gym socks. I got some febreze at wally world and have lysol on hand but don't want to use something on them that will speed their demise. Any suggestions? Thanks, BeLinda. |

This is what I use on my hockey gear without any discoloring or damage. Take an empty spray bottle fill 2/3 with water 1/3 with isopropyl alcohol. You can turn you togs inside an out an advantage I do not have with my gear The spray with the mix, hang and put a fan in a the room to circulate the air. depending on tha funk you may have to do it a few times... |

Thanks for the replies, got em soaking in the sink now with detergent and color safe bleach. Hopefully that takes care of the funk. Any yes, I did a quick search and you can get them for $28-35 now. I think we paid closer to $60...Good to know in case they don't survive another season. |

You can also turn it inside out and hang it in the sun for a while. I used to do that with my commercial fishing gear and it works well. |

Sunshine is supposed to kill the bacteria that causes the funk. |

The toggs work well in the humid stuff, just not for long rides in down pours. Here's the toggs update. Mostly dry and the smell seems to be mostly gone, but the old sniffer still detects a hint of funk, and its not the good kinda James Brown/Prince funk neither. Inside out in the sun seems like the next step. That is when the sun comes back out. When did I move to Seattle??? Flood watches tonight, 10 inches of rain predicted in some places. Hellllloooo tropical weather!!!! B. |

Try adding baking soda to the water. It helps with odors, even funk! |
