Background: I live in Scandinavia. I have a great dealer, but getting parts through HD just doesn't happen. I got my dealer to order new rear directionals on warranty almost 7 weeks ago, still no response from HD. At the same time the dealer ordered the kit from product program 504 (dipstick, sidestand spring and fuel vent), no sign of life there either. I am not surprised though. When a tyre company broke the front brake disc on my X1 some years ago, the expected delivery of a new one from HD was more than three months. I solved it myself by finding a salvaged one. My dealer wants to know the recall ID for the front brake as nothing shows on HD-net for my bike. Can somebody find this for us? He needs it to possibly speed up the handling by HD. I have seriously started to mistrust getting parts/kits through proper channels and now considers ordering from a US dealer and take the cost myself. My clutch weeps and track days are coming up. From another thread I read that there now shall be a kit available with the final solution for clutch weep. Can anybody confirm this and tell me parts/kit numbers so I can order this? Thanks in advance. |

Here's the info for the front brake line recall. I found it under "XB12R" so maybe that's why the dealer is having a hard time locating it? Great! Thanks, that was quick. One down, one to go. Keeping my fingers crossed for clutch weep remedy. That one is a potentional showstopper for not only track days but riding altogether. |

You will also need have your dealer check YOUR VIN to make certain your 1125R is subject to the recall. It may not be. There is no reason your dealer should not be able to get parts promptly. |

I will be sure to instruct him to use the VIN. And I agree with you Court, there is no reason at all. But somehow things seem to get lost when they reach HD Sweden. Why, I have no idea. Having tried that route a number of times now, I resign and turn to the alternative where I can rely on delivery but will have to personally assume the cost. The downtime of the bike costs too much for me to spend anymore time struggling with red HD Sweden tape. For me, that is the easier way out. I promised you that I would give you an update when everything with the turn signals was fixed and the current answer to that is given in my first post in this thread. I.e. I am sorry but I have none to give you yet, but when it happens I will keep my promise. Just to be clear, there is no criticism here. I am just trying to do what is most pragmatic and efficient for me and solve these issues as quickly as possible. Being an owner of a niche brand bike, far away from its home market has its shortcomings. But that is vastly outwheighed by the shear pleasure of riding this unique and excellent creation of engineering. |

Be mindful . . . with regard to the turn signals that the "white tape" means nothing. Open the unit by removing the small phillips screw and look to see if there is a GRAY (not black) gasket inside. The box it arrives in should be marked REV D. In the meantime, it'll be Friday before I can get to it, I'll check on the Swedish 1125Rs and see if they are subject to the recall. |

Recall should not matter does it? If it don't work? Bring on revision E |

I wonder if one of you fellas from our Western Colony can answer this? Is the recall brake line exactly the same as the previous line? If so, my dealer will replace it under Warranty rather than waiting for the recall in the UK. I've already rerouted my damaged line and it could do with being a little longer. Does the recall kit just consist of a brake line or are there other things in it? I don't really want to have to take it (a long way) to my nearest dealer, only to have to go back again for the recall. I've asked this question in the UK and had a variety of answers. Thanks |
